An amazing soundtrack to a great film featuring the Basement Jaxx; Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe. Despite what the artist credits shows on the MP3 version below; Basement Jaxx are the main contributors on all but five of the tracks, so a majority of the album is an incredible mix of their music with Steven Price's big soundtrack scores. This is something that does not get recorded enough; it works incredibly well here and sits on dance floors as well as in the film.

5.0 out of 5 starsGreat soundtrack sets the tone for a great film7 Aug 2011

Just saw this film last night and one of my first thoughts upon leaving the theater is how quickly do I go out and get myself the soundtrack. The music is a mix of cool beats and excellent atmospheric pieces that match the setting and the characters perfectly. The music elevate the tension and helps bring you into the action in a blend sounds that tug at you and make you feel like your not just watching the scene, but you're part of it. That's not to say you've got to be watching the movie to enjoy this music. I'll be queuing this one up often.
Can't say I'm familiar with Stephen Price's work but I'll certainly be keeping an ear out in the future.

This was genuinely one of my favorite movies of 2011. I'm amazed that it didn't get more buzz. Regardless, the soundtrack is equally great. The guys from Basement Jaxx did a really great job of setting the tone for the film.
P.S. - "The Ends" is also one of the best TRACKS of 2011.

The Attack The Block soundtrack is full of pounding beats and grinding synths that really show the grit of being an impoverished youth faced with the unknown.
