Amazon.co.uk Review

One of those series that you just know will seem horribly out of date about 10 seconds after the final episode concludes, this drama about a London-based Internet start-up company nevertheless makes for some seriously compulsive viewing. For that one can presumably thank producer Tony Garnett who, as the man responsible for This Life and The Cops, knows all about laying traps for that most elusive of creatures, the lesser-spotted zeitgeist. In fact, at first glance it looks like Garnett may have been trying just a little too hard as the first episode introduces us to a cast of characters that includes a bitchy lesbian, a mixed race couple and a bespectacled computer geek who likes to roller-skate around the office naked. But by the third entry it is clear that, beneath all the flashy camerawork and Internet jargon, lie such reliably entertaining soap-drama war horses as The Conniving Harridan and The Horny Git. Whether the show will develop into a This Life-style phenomenon remains to be seen but the end product should certainly prove essential viewing for those people who don't get enough bitchiness and office politics in their own workplace. --Alan Smithee

This was a great drama that unfortunately came too soon after the success of This Life. The BBC hastily decided to cut it after the second series. This was a great shame. Attachments depiction of a bunch of disparate young people trying to set up an Internet business at the start of the sitcom boom was a great and realistic attempt to fairly portray the twenties-something generation at the beginning of the noughties. Additionally this drama is a roll call of British acting talent and some of it's minor cast have gone onto to greater things such as David Walliams (in rare serious role) and Romola Garai. The fact that the BBC have neglected to get their act together and release a DVD means that they end up losing out on some much needed financial revenue and deny fans of this great drama an opportunity to see it again. Shame on the Beeb!

I great BBC drama 28 Mar 2001

This is one of the BBC's best drama and was an interesting and exciting first series. I think that the idea of having it set in a modern, not so well-to-do company was a brilliant idea and they took us through the aches and pains of the busines very well. A big thumbs up to the BBC. Gemma-CAMBS
