This is definitely a reference book that gives a lot of bang for its buck. The animals that it focuses on are separated into their own sections, the horse, the dog, the lion, the cow/bull and stag/roe/goat, as well as an extra section with other animals briefly covered (all mammals).
The larger sections are delivered in superb detail, showing a few different angles (usually at least two picked out of the front, side, back, and overhead views to give an idea of the overall volume of the animal), as well as the standard plates for the muscles and bones. (Though the stag/roe/goat section doesn't do this.) Also attention is paid to specific areas such as the hooves, paws, legs and heads of animals in the first four sections, again sometimes covering a variety of angles.
Quality of the plates is fantastic here, and I would very much recommend this to anyone looking for a good animal anatomy reference.
