Book Description

28 April 2013
Acupuncture in Latin means sticking with the needle. Each of the 409 important acupuncture points is presented with an anatomical graphic, an overview of the meridian and a photo showing the needle placement. The combination of Chinese sources and the authors therapeutic experiences provides a sensible balance between the most important indications and practical needs. The names, properties, and applications of the individual acupuncture points have been revised on this basis. Far-Eastern healing methods and Western observation techniques create a bridge between Asian and Western views of acupuncture. This acupuncture atlas not only provides beginners with an overview of the most important acupuncture points, but experienced practitioners can also learn about seldom used acupuncture points and thus extend their knowledge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellently presented. 3 May 2013
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
As an acupuncture student, still trying to wrap my head around point location, this book is invaluable. There is, in truth, no perfect text out there for finding points - as point location is not an exact science - but this text provides a convenient, simple, and extremely effective aid to those of us still at the level of knowing which point to use, but still not 100% confident about where to actually put the needle. It also provides clear and concise details of each point including point indications, functions, natures (Shu, Mu, Luo etc.)... which is always useful to be able to double check at a glance. If you're an acupuncture student, then in my opinion this should be part of your ever expanding library.
All in all, highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really brilliant reference 15 Aug 2010
Format:Hardcover
I used this book while I was training as an acupuncturist. I mainly used it to get a clear idea on where points were located.

The really good thing about this location guide is that it shows you a photo of the surface location as well as a diagram of the structures underlying the skin, which is a memorable guide that will help you to avoid causing injury, and also helps you remember the structures you can palpate to help you find certain points.

Every acupuncture student should own a photographic atlas of Acupuncture, you do need it. This is the best one I have seen, I would really reccomend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes everything fall into place 9 April 2013
By Bels
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
This is very easy to read (good sized print) with instructions and diagrams showing exactly where points are in relation to bone and muscle. I now don't bother looking at my other acupuncture books for locations as none are as clear as this Atlas.

Clear and concise in its explanation of the point locations. Locations are shown on photos of real people instead of drawings, which makes it easier to relate to the actual body.
