Another Warriors of Poseidon novel for romance lovers to dive into...

What could Christophe, powerful Warrior of Poseidon, have in common with Fiona Campbell, the notorious jewel thief known as the Scarlet Ninja? Answer: The Siren, a legendary Crown Jewel that Fiona has targeted for her next heist. It's said to be worth millions, but to Christophe it's invaluable. For the Siren also happens to be one of the missing jewels from Poseidon's trident. But breaking into the Tower of London is a two-person job, and Christophe and Fiona must team up to commit the crime of the century.

This is the next instalment of the Warriors of Poseidon series. I really enjoyed the previous books in this eries and I love the way the author weaves her romantic leads together. This book featured Christophe and his love interest Fiona. I especially loved the fact that this book was set in London. Both Christophe and Fiona were both searching for the Siren, a jewel from the sword called the Vanquish from the Tower of London as individuals before they team up (after Christophe blackmails Fiona). I have been looking forward to reading Christophe's story and I wasn't disappointed. He is a complex character but has met his match with Fiona. However, there was a details in the book that really annoyed me, and spoilt the book for me a little. It was the references to the currency in Britain being the euro. It isn't, hasn't been and really drives me mad. We still have pound sterling as our currency and it is a little irritating that we have been lumped together with the Eurozone. There is also a reference to the British being enemies of the Scots and that is also incorrect. The English were, not the British (Britain is a combination of England, Scotland and Wales). My moans aside, this book was really enjoyable and I enjoyed the other main characters of Declan (Fiona's brother) and Hopkins the butler.
This is an excellent series and I am really looking forward to the next instalment featuring Daniel, the ruler of the North American Vampires.
If I had been able to give the book four and a half stars (because of the inaccuracies) I would have.

Christophe; an elite Warrior of Poseidon is tasked to retrieve the Siren, one of seven magical jewels required to raise Atlantis safely to the surface world. Travelling to London, he doesn't expect to encounter a rival thief; the Scarlet Ninja, a Robin Hood type character who distributes the wealth she steals to a variety of charities. Yep the Scarlet Ninja is female; specifically Lady Fiona Campbell, bestselling children's author and infamous philanthropic thief. Christophe has certainly met his match in this woman and his first sight of her in a sexy red outfit brings him to his knees (disregarding the tranquiliser dart Fiona shoots him with).

The relationship between Christophe and Fiona works well; he the outspoken warrior and she the prim and proper lady until she dons her persona of the Scarlet Ninja or stands too closely to Christophe. There is far more interaction with the Fae, whilst the vampires are again seeking power and a full on war is brewing between them and the shape shifters. There are the standard battle scenes and moments of humour I expect from this author and the passion certainly blazes red hot between Fiona and Christophe, but I felt there was an obvious gap in the story line. There is no real history into how Fiona learnt of her own unique gifts and the intensive training she must have undergone, hence the lost star in what continues to be an exciting paranormal romance series.

This is a great addition the the Atlantis series with good lead characters and plenty of adventure, romance and humour.

I like Alyssa Day's writing and think that this series is definatley getting better the further it goes on. I really was not sure about Chris before this book, but in his own story with Lady Fiona, he really comes into his own.

If you like your PR with a good bite of humour and strong female characters, this is a story for you.
