My family and I went on holiday to Anthens very recently and were extremely disappointed with this guide book. All the opening times for museums and the archeological sites were wrong and the book in general appeared very unreliable. The book gave a list of the top ten visits in the area of Athens, however we were extremely disappointed when we discovered many of these tourist attractions weren't in fact particularly interesting after we made a big effort to see them. We were also extremely surprised to fing the new acropolis museum at number two when it hasn't even opened yet, or built, for that matter. To us,this guide book was not written with the experience and knowledge we originally expected of eye witness. However, If you are more bothered about the history of the place you are about to visit, rather than which place you should visit, then this book does, in fact, give you some good information. In my opinion this book is not meant for a five day family holiday, but if i was to recommend it to someone, I would suggest only weekenders, as It is a perfect pocket information and history book, but definately NOT useful for any other situation. One evening my family even sat down at a restaurant reading parts of the guide book out and laughing at it!
