With the recent spate of Television shows transferring to video game format, it comes as no surprise that Family Fortunes follows in the footsteps of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and The Weakest Link. Pleasantly though, it is a fun game which the whole family will enjoy.
Les Dennis hosts a video packed game, which is quick and effective. Not one bit of the game plods along, leaving you little time to bore yourself. There are no annoying repetitions of phrases from the host, nor is there many repetitions of each question. Although obviously new questions run out, each question is answered over such a length of time that by the time it is repeated, you have forgotten the answers.
The Create a Family mode is especially fun, allowing you to assemble a team of friends, enemies or just plain weirdos to represent you.
The questions themselves are also very user friendly. For the ones of us for whom spelling is not a strong point, should you mis spell a word, the game USUALLY recognises the word you attempted to input, and gives you the points or the dreaded EUH EUH.
Whilst a game show in computer format is always sevrely limited in what they can show, Family Fortunes is a game that will keep you entertained more than most, and you wont be bored after thirty minutes. The graphics are high class, as are the sounds, and there is enough variety to keep you entertained. In fact, you can while away many an afternoon very quickly. And even if you do complete all the questions, you can always trash all of your friends
