5.0 out of 5 stars Dragon Ball Z- Budokai 3 Buy It Now!!! 10 Sept. 2005
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai, a series I feel is on par with the likes of Soul Calibur and even the mighty Tekken (which recently returned to form spectacularly)!
This game has more characters, moves and customisation in one battle than in the entirety of Tekken 5 or Soul Calibur 2, and I damn well mean it!
The battles take place on vast (remember, there's a difference between vast and empty) and interactive landscapes, and have an epic feel to them everytime! (Since when in Tekken or Soul Calibur could you dodge a giant fireball, teleport behind your suprised opponent, knock them through a mountain then throw a hundred explosions down on them? You can even destroy the planet you're fighting on!)
Fighting is fast and furious. Battles can turn around in mere moments, and the customisation of Skills makes for awesome startegic play as well! Even the most hardened of warriors are going to have a tough time against a Cooler equipped with the regenerative Cooler's Spaceship Capsule! (If you have no idea what I'm talking about- that's normal)
But when you finally unleash a Genki Dama/ Spirit Bomb on your opponent, using all your character's remaining Ki (energy) in a last ditch effort to defeat your enemy, destroying the face of the planet while you're at it, only to find that they have only just managed to survive and have their own Special Attack is where the true magic of the game comes in!
There's only one fighting game that demands your money more than this one, and that's Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3- Collector's Edition! Buy it now!

5.0 out of 5 stars OH MY GOD!!!! 19 Mar. 2005
first of i am a fan of the anime of dragon ball z but was oh so very skeptical of it being turned into a game. Boy was i proved wrong for anyone whos ever seen the anime this is a amazing game you can do everything that is seen in the anime. For people who have not seen the anime dont worry you will easily pick up on the story and charachters. The graphics with shell shading are stunning and really bring the game to life and the whole button and combo system has been greatly thought about to make it sooooo much fun to play. This game has such a long life to it with a great RPG element and loads of charachers 40+ it is just great fun to play. This is a game you will keep for ages and is a great multiplayer game. Honestly cant praise it enough!!!!

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
for starters, forget that this is on the PS2 and forget tht its graphically inept compared to the likes of Burstlimit for the 360, this is by far the best Dragonball game made so far. It surpasses Burstlimit in so many ways that it really doesnt matter that its for a less capable console. The graphics because of this are no where near as complex or good looking yet they still ring true to the series and still make you take a step back and say "wow if only they re-did the series like this". The Z chronicles section of this game is immense, with an actuall free roam type gameplay allowing players to fly around the world of the game as they choose. it chronicles the whole of the tv series and allows players to make the sacred Goku AND Vegita SSJ4 transormation (oh yes get ready to wet ur pants) and the storylines, unlike Burstlimit are well explained, so u wont have to be a superfan to know why the hell people are randomly fighting. Overall this is an incredible effort which to be quite honest puts all previous games and even the ones since to shame. so like i said if you have to buy a Dragonball Z game make sure its this :) its even worth buying the PS2 for tbh. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars BIGGEST IMPROVEMENT EVER!!!!!! 7 Feb. 2005
WOW!!!!!This game has improved soooooooooooooo much! There's no way i can tell you ALL the improvements, but here are some:you can fly at any time in a match by dashing backwards and pressing up,in the new story mode(dragon universe)you can do what you want(fly around the whole of DBZ,check out all your favourite places e.g west city, baba's palace)and you are a person, not just a weird and dodgey looking counter(as in budokai2)!Speaking of dodgey, you can dodge and teleport behind your opponent!!!!There are sooooooooo many new characters e.g:Broly,Cooler(frieza's bro),bardock(goku's dad),uub(kid buu,but good)and you can even be Omega Shenron!!You can also choose cell jr and saibemen!!!Plus(where does it stop?!)now you don't have to struggle with bad guys with WAY higher health levels than yours, because you can build up your health and lots of other stats! The new drgon arena is also a good new feature! You battle loads of opponents, getting stronger and when someone breaks in,you can unlock lots of cool skills(my favourite is cell games!!)!So,that's all i'm saying, cus i can't even type nothin else!
SEE YA!!!!
P.S Come visit my planet sometime!

5.0 out of 5 stars Crazy! 5 Jun. 2005
If i was to sum up this one of a kind game in one word it would be 'crazy'. It has got to be the most addictive, fast paced beautiful and downright ballistic fighting game i have ever played! As i am a fan of Dragonball z i immediatly got into the game, the characters are all there, and they are all awesome. (My fav's being Vegeta and Perfect Cell)
The fighting in the game is exactly like that found in the cartoon, and it looks and feels great. All the special moves looks amazing and the ultimate attacks (The biggest attack i have found so far) are an absolute treat to watch.
This game is so fun and so mental that you will be laughing at the screen when you pull of a barrage of impossible attacks.
If you like DBZ go but it, right now. If you dont like DBZ then give it a rent.

It's a perfectly good game, and i enjoyed it a lot, but if you're not a fan of Dragonball, you'd probably get more out of another fighting game.
