Madness at Madstock is a no-frills, nothing-fancy record of the band's 1998 open-air concert in London's Finsbury Park, which was attended by 75,000 people. Madness brought to Two-Tone an ebullient laddish sound that owed much to the suburban hi-jinks of the Kinks in their heyday, as well as a cheeky brassiness that was not just a matter of a good horn section. This concert celebrates both the band's reunion after a long split and the sheer good spirits that went with the occasion--the band dance, the audience dance and everyone jumps up and down, because that's what you do when Madness play. After a brief introduction with some home-movie touches like a trip to the tailor, we are treated to a selection of Madness standards including "House of Fun", "Night Boat to Cairo" and "Baggy Trousers", as well as slightly odder items such as a version of some key themes from Swan Lake! --Roz Kaveney

Features most of the bands big hits including House of Fun, Our House, The Prince, My Girl, Wings of a Dove and Baggy Trousers to name a few.
The concert is excellent and is great entertainment. It's about time another Live Madness DVD was released as this was filmed in 1998.
There is also a little into/behind the scenes with the band at the beginning of the feature.
A must have for any Madness fan and for anyone who enjoys music.

They say the ground shook that evening in Finsbury Park and having watched this DVD many, many times over the impact and presence as the nutty boys explode into your room almost recreates this event. The DVD contains the very best of this classic group and I challenge you to remain seated through this exhilarating trip down memory lane.
There is nothing quite like attending a live concert but this really does challenge that view.
Put on your baggy trousers, shut up, lose the grey day and take the night boat to Cairo with the ultimate MADNESS collection. (It must be love!)

Highly entertaining with tons of feel good factor. My musical partner muttered about a few bum notes (hence the four stars) but I'm tone deaf so it sounded just fine to me. I guess you can't expect musical perfection on a reunion concert and the entertainment value more than make up for it. OK for the the family if you skip the intro (a few F words in there)
