Amazon Verified Purchase
Just upgraded from an Asus VK266H, and found the image to be far superior to any other monitor I have seen, the images are so sharp and vibrant, it's an absolute pleasure to view, no dead pixels either. Initially I found the LED backlighting to be too bright but when the AI sensor is activated it adjusted to the ambient lighting. Highly recommended.

Nice monitor, nice price at under 300gbp. Mounted on a slim vesa bracket as a second screen for a macbook this monitor is perfect and at a third of the price of the Apple Equivalent is a good value alternative that does not disappoint. The top resolution is full hd which is the main difference as the apple display goes upto a lot more so if you really have to pay for that resolution then this is not the best choice. Otherwise what else do you want for your money. Surrounds are blak gloss shiny and the design aspects of the stand are functional rather beautiful. I'm using the dvi port at he moment as the display port connector in the post so no obvious functionality from the camera yet. An alternative to this one would be the asusvk278q which is 40quid cheaper without the camera. Another option I looked at was the acer slim serie but the price went up and it has no obvious VESA bracket connections.
Very happy with this purchase probably will get a second one.

After much deliberation, and scanni9ng the mine filed of todays monitors. I finally settled on this one. After reading reviews on all types I found this to be the most consistant of the lot.
My previous monitor was a Samsung Syncmaster 226BW which was perfect in every way and I was worried if I could find one to match. To test it out I put on Battlefield 3, maxed out the resolutions and set graphics to as high as they could go. The monitor was excellent, no ghosting or blurring. The colours are so rich and definately an improvement from the Samsung. Trying Battlefield BC2 I noticed all the maps looked more in depth and once again the colours have changed the way the map looks for the better.
I was worried about having a 27" and only being able to go to 1080p, but I needn't have worried as it looks amazing all the same
For movies this is excellent too, I watched a couple of HD movies and once again these are crystal clear with vibrant colours. Browsing isn't a problem infact I could probably do it from accross the room!
There are a few presets on the monitor to change the way it displays. Sceneryl,standard,theatre,game and night mode. I tweaked the brightness in most of these dropping it down to 65-70 as it ewas just far too bright out of the box.
All in all I give this monitor 5 stars, I bought it at the start of this week when it was £250, a bargain for sure. Now I see it has gone up to £275 which in todays market is still a great bargain.
Delivery was as usual fast from Amazon, living in the Highlands it arrived within 2 days!
Anyone thinking of a 27" should definately consider this if the price stays under the £300 mark.
You'd be hard pushed to find a better deal.

vk278q 27 led asus
This is a good value monitor but yes you need to adjust brightness or it will make you feel sick. Deliver was very good it came sooner than estimated time.

Greate monitors
Both two 4 months ago they are great for 3D, Photoshop and development wonderful.

Great monitor no problems yet appart from one annoying dead pixel right in the middle of the screen, appart from that two thumbs up!!
