Product Description

Product Description

The new Asus GTX670-DC-2GD5 with Digi+ VRM for the ultimate power control and enhanced Overclocking comes with the Asus exclusive DirectCU II for up to 20% better cooling.

NVIDIA's Kepler GPU architecture has been designed from the ground up not just for maximum performance in the latest DirectX 11 games, but optimal performance per watt. The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant and power efficient graphics card.

Up until now, GPUs have operated at a fixed clock speed when playing 3D games, even if they have the potential to run faster. GPU Boost intelligently monitors graphics work load and increases the clock speed whenever possible. The result is that the GPU always performs at its peak and you get the highest framerate possible.

Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.

PhysX is designed specifically for hardware acceleration by powerful processors with hundreds of cores. Combined with the tremendous parallel processing capability of the GPU, PhysX will provide an exponential increase in physics processing power and will take gaming to a new level delivering rich, immersive physical gaming environments.

NVIDIA CUDA technology is the world’s only C language environment that enables programmers and developers to write software to solve complex computational problems in a fraction of the time by tapping into the many-core parallel processing power of GPUs. With millions of CUDA-capable GPUs already deployed, thousands of software programmers are already using the free CUDA software tools to accelerate applications—from video and audio encoding to oil and gas exploration, product design, medical imaging, and scientific research.

Nothing is as breathtaking as playing your favorite games across three monitors. At 5760 x 1080, the expanded field of view fully engages human peripheral vision and provides for the most immersive experience in racing and flight simulators. Add in a fourth display to keep tabs on chat, email or web while you are gaming.

NVIDIA 3D Vision brings a fully immersive, stereoscopic 3D experience to the PC. A combination of high-tech wireless glasses and advanced software, 3D Vision transforms hundreds of PC games into full stereoscopic 3D. Get up to 2x monitor and keyboard brightness with NVIDIA 3D LightBoost technology. In addition, you can enjoy 3D movies and 3D digital photographs from 3DVisionLive.com in eye popping, crystal-clear quality.

Used by the most demanding gamers worldwide, SLI lets you link up to three GeForce GTX 670s together for astounding performance. And with NVIDIA’s track record for fast and frequent software updates, you’ll not only get the best performance in existing games, but future games too.

Blu-ray and HD DVD movies are bringing a new level of movie-viewing experience; with high-definition image quality far surpassing standard-definition DVDs. NVIDIA PureVideo HD2 technology provides unsurpassed Blu-ray and HD DVD movie picture quality.

Installed in a new build pc, runs quietly, reaches 71'C with BF3 and Crysis 3 in full settings (which is well within the cards tolerances). Stable and easily over clockable, through the software.

following some other reviews, it seems in 2012 this had problems with a bad batch, mine (march 2013) worked fine, so either they've all gone, or I got lucky

as for the card, easy to install, it does take 2*6 pin PCI-E power from your PSU which might catch some older Power Supplies out.

7.9/7.9 windows rating for this card.

Buy it, you won't regret it (it clocks in and runs at base, quicker than a 690)

First of all, most 670s on the market today have faulty models.
Unfortunately, this is no acception to the trend.
However, I was lucky enough to receive one that works, and it works well. The cooler is excellent, the two fans are virtually silent and are designed to hold the GPU at a certain temperature to increase the life, and it works. The cooler is held on by four screws.
Power wise, the card can run anything you want on the market today, maxed, at 1080p, maintaining 60 fps. It will match the gtx 680 when overclocked. The games look very good when maxed to, and FXAA will produce some good anti aliasing without reducing performance. This card requires two 6-pin PCIe power connectors, and supports PCIe gen. 3.
Overall, this is a great card for its price, I would recommend a non-faulty one to anyone looking for high end performance with a budget of £350.

This card is awesome, very fast and very quiet. All that I had hoped for. So why the 3 star review

Unfortunately after a couple of weeks the computer (MB: Rampage IV extreme), would not boot. I tried the card in all four PCI-e slots on the board. Motherboard beeps liked no card in the machine.

Amazon has a first rate customer service, they had a second card dispatched next day delivery. Installed the card, booted first time. From the sound of it this isn't the most reliable card in the world hearing from similar people who have had dodgy cards. But if you get one that works, the card is amazing. Amazon is definitely the place to buy this card as have good customer service (not to mention the best price) and support should you get a card which isn't up to par.

For that price you cannot get a better card than this one from GTX cards (might get a radeon). I use it for Photoshop and After Effects but that nothing. I play games as well. I get nearly all Very High setting on Crysis 3 on 1920x1200 resolution. Nearly all settings except FXAA sampling. This setting is for high end graphic cards so forget about it. Still have that on very low anyway. All other games set on very high with high frame rate.

Bought a PC earlier this year and needed to make some upgrades for what i wanted to use it for - Gaming. This card has worked brilliantly with my new PSU and have had no problems. Card came in a great box but did not seem to come with any screws which could cause inconvenience if you do not have any small enough however if you are upgrading your PSU as well (like I did) then you should have some screws left over either from your old or new PSU. Only problem i have had has been attempting to install some drivers but i am fairly sure this is down to windows 8 and some other problems that include my firewall, though in the end the drivers were installed successfully so there is usually a way around it. Would definately recommend as a good base graphics card as i have used this to play games such as Battlefield 3 on Ultra and also the Battlefield 4 Beta on Ultra, keeping in mind this is the only graphics card in my system. Thankyou.

Superb upgrade from my old GTX 280 which was really complaining about running games like Diablo III and Skyrim at 2560x1440 (very loud & hot!).

This 670 seems to manage everything I have at 2560x1440 without breaking a sweat and doesn't ever seem to 'crank up' the noise level when do something you think would stress it. Excellent workmanship from Asus! You can get slightly higher clocked versions of the 670 from other manufacturers but I just wanted peace and quiet after the deafening GTX 280...

Sadly, only a couple of months after I bought this NVIDIA brought out there new 700 series and new GTX 770 which is the upgraded version of this - for pretty much the same money.... But that's just the way of it in this game. Loved this card though, so if the price gets knocked down due to the new 700 series and you want to save some pennies this card is a good buy :-)
