The ROG Maximus V GENE features the new Intel Z77 express chipset and comes with SupremeFX® III audio and network traffic management via Intel® Ethernet and ASUS GameFirst technology, affording smoother and more immersive gameplay. Containing display port and HDMI, the Maximus V GENE also includes Smart DIGI+ power control and the world’s first Dual Intelligent Processors from ASUS consisting of two dedicated onboard chips, the TPU and EPU. This also consists of multiple digital voltage controllers that allow for ultra-precise tuning of CPU, iGPU and DRAM power delivery while working with the TPU to ramp up performance to full potential for the ultimate user experience.
The new architecture creates a cooler and quieter desktop carefully designed in accordance with next generation Intel® VRD 12.5 power standards to offer consumers the very latest in innovation and readiness. Fan Auto Tuning Mode scans fans individually to detect their thermal properties through automatic speed sensing. Custom fan speeds can be adjusted automatically or manually with a single mouse click, achieving an optimal balance of cooling and low noise. Extreme Engine Digi+ combines analogue and digital elements with an adjustable CPU PWN frequency to efficiently dissipate heat and achieve a better electric conduction; keeping the overall motherboard reliable. Fan Xpert 2 also includes an RPM Fixed Mode for users who wish to reduce noise levels to near 0dB, with highly specific fan speed controls that react to actual system loads for more accurate response.
Furthermore the Maximus V GENE includes support for both NVIDIA SLI and AMD CrossFireX which offer the ultimate in flexibility for 3D graphics and Intel® Smart Response Technology, Intel® Smart Connect Technology, and Intel® Rapid Start Technology, while also natively supporting PCI Express 3.0.

Looks great, easy to install and the mSATA is great for a Boot drive.
Don't hesitate well worth the money for all the add ons.

This motherboard is amazing. It has more USB ports than I would ever need, has all the other amazing features that you would get with a full sized atx board, but it is on a small form factor.
This does seem to be one of the favourite Z77 motherboards for overclocking, although I haven't ventured into that as yet.
I can't say much more about it, haven't had any issues, has tons of ports to connect to, great small form factor.
If you want all the features of Z77, overhead room for overclocking and all on a nice small form factor, get this board.

This is a super little board, the bios is easy to use / has everything you will ever need and more, its so stable i feel i can really stretch my system with it .
The board itself looks great and has enough of everything i need. i wasnt sure about spending out on such a top spec board , but im really glad i did , its worth every penny
