For some reason my old NVidea card dies (GS7300) and so I needed another PCIe card as driving two monitors with the internal card was impacting performance.

I am not a "gamer" but do have a setup with two monitors 1920x1080 + 1680x1050 which are used concurrently.

This card was comparatively cheap ( less than £[] delivered at the time ) and does everything I need from it. The machine it is inserted into handles it nicely in Ubuntu 11.04 and XP. It seems to have a substantial heat sink which I guess it needs as there is no fan (hence "Silent"). Unlike the other review I did not find any issue with fitting this card but then I use full size tower cases; the connectors foul slightly on mine but this is true for any card (a borrowed ATi card used until this one arrived for example).

So it does what I need with two monitors (one HDMI one on the VGA) and displays great full screen video and full "funky desktop features" of compiz in GNU/Linux.

Considering the price, it gets full marks from me.

Installed and was picked up by windows 7 instantly which then updated its driver from internet automatically.

Build quality is very good. but the form factor is slightly bigger, will take the space of two cards. Probably they have increased the size to attach bigger fins for cooling, the card cooling is soundless as described. Make sure that the slot that is just beside ur graphics card slot is free for installation.

The only drawback i felt was that i was playing UT2003 and that also not at higher details or higher frame rate and i noticed a little stutter (3 times in 15 minutes of gameplay). This wasnt there before i used this graphic card; infact i didnt have any graphics card before and the game worked fine using the onboard graphics of intel dg31pr motherboard.

A great silent card 3 Nov 2011
This card is really affordable and is well made.
the drivers are easy to get the latest from Nvidia (they have a really good utility to check which you need) so there isn't an issue with finding the correct ones.
It is a completely silent card as it doesn't use a fan (perfect for computers being used for recording and music) but because of its broad cooling vent it is a little more difficult to put into the slot because vision is impaired by the vent, that is the only downside if any.
I would recommend this to anyone except for the hardened gamer, they may need something more powerful.
