5.0 out of 5 stars Great value and performance 15 Jun 2011

Having used nVidia graphics cards for many years, and always being highly satisfied with their performance, the time had come for me to upgrade once more. First thing I did was visit a number of websites which had many reviews of many different graphics cards, in all price ranges, together with their "scores". Using the information I obtained from this research, I compiled a short-list of cards that seemed to come with high recommendations, good benchmark scores and, equally important, were in my price range. The biggest surprise to me was that the Radeon graphics cards were all getting higher benchmark figures than similar nVidia cards. Following more research I discovered that Amazon not only sold the card that had caught my eye but the price was considerably lower than other online retailers. I ordered, although still wondering if I had made the right choice and already regretting the move from nVidia. This graphics card was delivered earlier than expected (more praise then for Amazon), installation was no problem at all, but the discs that came with the card containing drivers and extras were way out of date and did contain some conflicts. I would therefore recommend you do not attempt to install from the enclosed discs but visit the manufacturer's website and download the drivers from there, it only takes a minute and can be done while you wait for your package to arrive. I have been using this graphics card now for over a month, my pc has to deal with high intensity 3D games and virtual words, together with 2D and 3D design software. Read more ›

I bought one of these to replace the 512mb graphics card which came with my PC as it wasn't able to cope with newer (and quite a few older) games.
I'm very glad I did, it really has given my PC a new lease of life.
Prevously my Windows Experience Index was 3.4 (3.4 for aero graphics, 3.8 for gaming graphics) now the Windows Experience Index is 7.0 for aero graphics, 7.0 for gaming graphics.
My computer will now run just about anything I throw at it, Assassins Creed with all the graphics effects on max, Bioshock, full on, no problem, Half-Life 2 looks gorgeous and plays just great. My PC now no longer overheats when I try to play a decent game, and the card is more or less silent (plus it proports to having a "dust proof fan" - looking at the blackened, filthy card I took out, I hope it lives up to the hype).
My only quibble is that it took me a while to get the software properly installed - more specifically catalyst doesn't seem to work correctly, although the card works flawlessly. However I suspect that might be something to do with the OS (Windows 7 32 bit) and doesn't affect my gaming one bit.
All in all a really good card, good enough for your average (or above average) gamer on a bit of a budget.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product!! 30 Aug 2011

After days of skimming the internet looking for and reviewing/comparing several Graphic Cards to replace the out- of- date one on my pc, I settled for this-both in terms of price and performance with the added features of IGB mamory and the new GDDR5. Did not have to wait long for delivery.

Installing the hardware went smoothly-everything just clicked into place and the system recognized the new card right away. You have the option of using the software on the supplied disk if you want to use the additional features, but in terms of updating the card I went straight to the website and upgraded the driver from there.
I have been running this card for a month now with no issues. I can clearly see an improvement in clarity and depth of color in my displays. I don't indulge much in playing games, so I can't comment, but from reading comments on various forums this card will handle most-if not all modern games you throw at it without breaking a sweat.

So go ahead and buy-for performance, price and peace of mind.

I am very happy with the graphics card, you cant really hear the fan. It scores 7.0 for both WA/Gaming graphics. It should last a while till something nicer comes along @ as good a price as this has.

Has: DVI x1, VGAx1 and HDMI x1, so you won't have a problem connecting a monitor.

If your on a budget and like the odd game, great addition to your pc, pro gamer? This won't be for you. I can watch film previews happly on 1080p with no problems, very clear and no lag. Upgraded from: Nvidia 9500GT
