Inspirational! 24 Sep 1999
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
This book is a must for anyone who loves football and wants an alternative to the usual one-syllable-worded books that are normally written on the subject. Alyson Rudd's account of her soccer obsession manages to be both humourous and enlightening, providing a real insight into a life dominated by football. Rudd's talent is to make this life seem not narrow, but full of opportunity and enjoyment. Brilliant!

completely terrible 19 Nov 2007
Format:Hardcover
I came across this book in a junk shop and that's exactly where it belongs. This is a silly book about a girl who needs to grow up. Considering how beautifully written, mature and sophisticated Nick Nornby managed to make the subject of football and fans, this is a disgrace to the genre. It's down there with the very worst books ever. TERRIBLE. THIS WOMAN REALLY CANNOT WRITE AT ALL!!!
