Product Description

Review

From the reviews:

"Purchasing your first pair of binoculars or first telescope can be an intimidating task. … James Mullaney’s book is an invaluable guide to aid in your purchase. … He has compiled comprehensive, up-to-date product and contact information for manufacturers and suppliers of binoculars and telescopes. … While it’s certainly a great book for the novice observer, advanced amateurs will probably find that the book covers too much familiar ground to warrant purchasing." (Jennifer Birriel, Sky & Telescope, November, 2007)

Overview of astronomical telescopes 3 Aug. 2009

Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This book has an excellent overview of the various types of astronomical telescopes, including
reflectors and refractors. Then he explains the variations of these two main types and gives examples of
specific brands of telescopes. If you want to know more about telescopes, this is an excellent book.

Star Ware: The Amateur Astronomer's Guide to Choosing, Buying, and Using Telescopes and Accessories

Thumbs up on this one.

Philip Harrington explains the world of telescopes and binoculars in a concise manner, very understandable to one who has limited knowledge on the subject of astronomy.

Would recommend this book to all who are contemplating the purchase of a telescope or binoculars.
