Product Description

In what was an eventful campaign for Villa, the 2011/12 season had its ups and downs. It was a turbulent season - full of emotion; from the despair of injuries to key players to the joy of big victories such as the triumph away at Chelsea and wondrous goals such as the memorable 20 yard curling strike by Andreas Weimann. It was also a season for reflection as fans rallied to show their support for Stiliyan Petrov who was forced to end the campaign early due to serious illness. Showing the spirit that so endeared him to the fans, the Villa captain still turned out to show his support for the club despite the shock news. And as the fans rose to their feet in appreciation of the midfielder, it was perhaps a turning point that saw Villa go on to lose just one game from the next seven, securing some vital results to avoid any serious threat to the club s Premier League status. The Villa team united and showed the spirit that has kept the club in the top-flight since its formation 20 years ago. The performances of Stephen Ireland and Shay Given stood out in an eventful season which, despite the final league position, was anything but boring.

3.0 out of 5 stars We are the championees 19 Feb 2013

I have to say that this season review is positively brilliant compared to what the next season review will be like. As a collector of season reviews it is safe to say that this one had highs and lows but unfortunately to many lows.

I bought this for my son for Christmas. Please don't ask me why he supports Villa. I imagine he was pleased with it.

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst season review at Villa 3 July 2012

I cannot believe the description about this particular season review. The description has tried to be as positive as possible but has blatantly papered over many cracks! Its by far the worst season Ive known at Villa Park and apart from Chelsea and Wolves away there was nothing to cheer about! Id be interested to see how they try to make this DVD interesting? Will they show the protests about the McLeish appointment? All the games we failed to score a goal? The pathetic draws against Blackburn, Sunderland and the 15 others! The pathetic home loss to Bolton in the cup and league? I will buy this season review as Ive collected them since 1989 but without doubt this will be the worst!
