Some (well one actually) of the reviews are hysterical and seem to rate this film much higher than it deserves. OK it's not overly salacious, and the subject matter and rape scenes are, for the time , fairly tame I suppose, but the way it's directed is poor in places - by making the camera the rapist it has given him magical powers to float around, behind, in front of, his victim instead of just chasing them. Small point but it annoyed me. Freddie Jones is just bloody awful (and I am normally a fan)- his character is so ridiculously OTT you just laugh with disbelief. Everyone else are/is? a bit boring. However... and it's important- the film is saved, for me, by having a) an excellent print (tho sound a bit muffled in it's dubbing) and b) the glorious wonderful Suzy Kendall! Only Susan George could match her in a mini skirt, and she can act! And Lesley Anne Down shows a hell of a lot of promise. Between them they make the film watchable and worthy of 3 stars, but it ain't a classic.
