As a fan of the series I actually bought the One to be able to play this game. It is without doubt gorgeous, the synchronisation animation is the best yet, and the cut scenes are beautifully rendered - the faces are so realistic. Free running is definitely more fluid than previous games, but it doesn't take long to realise this is a true AC game as he hangs onto ledges inches above the ground, jumps on everything possible (even changing direction in mid air to lock onto a destination) and always takes the most difficult route possible.
Paris itself is jam packed with people (the crowds are huge) who fortunately don't seem to get too much in the way - compare it to 1 or 2 when the main character tripped over everyone.
The in game story line is pretty good but without real depth (how did he learn to be an Assassin), the Paris stories are annoying, irritating and frustrating - as are the Cafe Stories - short but generally miles away from fast travel points so requiring running all over the place, murder mysteries are ok (but why are they there??). The new feature of in-game Co-op are really nice - especially to generate more skill points, although the heists are superfluous, and the Rifts are good as well - especially being able to judge your score against others.
Is the game buggy - YES - but they are fixing it, even making the next DLC free to everyone to say sorry. Occasionally doors are closed, or you're spotted through walls - but it is being fixed.

I received this game on release day as promised by Amazon. It comes in a really nice steelbook case which has a nice weight to it. The artbook that it comes with has some fantastic art, the CD has the fabulous Assassin's Creed Unity music which I love. The cards and the envelope that it comes with looks really nice but I will admit that they are kind of pointless.

The game is amazing. The graphics are stunning and I'm really enjoying the storyline and all of the side activities at the moment. Unity brings a lot of new things to the series like the equipment customisation and loads of new weapons which are all amazing. Paris itself is massive. I've not even explored half of it yet! The mission design is very good, it's got none of the boring 'tail' missions. You can do the missions how you want to do them without being constrained to Ubisoft's rules. The side activities contribute to your character and everything in the game has a point to it because Assassin's Creed has suffered in the past with 'pointless' missions.

The only problems that I have/had with this game is the frame rate and problems with Uplay not working. The first hour of this game had a lot of frame rate problems but now I'm not suffering that much (if at all) because every time I stop playing the game I properly 'quit'. I'm sure that Uplay will get sorted out but it's annoying because some things in the game link with Uplay.

Overall this edition of the game is extremely good and I'm very pleased with it. I paid £48.99 for this version which I think is a bargain but I would not pay over £60 for it.

Buy it!

Don't know why this game is getting all the bad reviews! I've only had frame drop once in 3 hours of play and I've not experienced any glitches/bugs during game play the game is great a lot better than previous ac games the free run has improved greatly also fighting is better more smoother and flows easier story line is just like the other ac games which is getting a bit boring now think they should make it where you can play as the templars! Overall good game but does need so patches to sort game play out and especially multi player as you can't even join

Brilliant game. Especially now the bugs are fixed. The gameplay is smooth and Paris is immersive with so much to do. However (and this is a big one) Unity doesn't really have anywhere to sit in with the rest of the series and those fans that were excited to see how the narrative would progress with the end to the Desmond storyline, my advice is not to get your hopes up about a revolutionary (no pun intended) continuation of the on going narrative of modern day assassins and Templars. If we brush this and the less than satisfactory narrative of the campaign itself to one side, a good game to play and explore is still there and a fan of the series would be able to appreciate what Ubisoft are doing by returning this new game back to the roots of the original Assassins Creed games..

Was quite a fun game, although quite buggy as a lot of people have mentioned. For example you can be walking through the streets and people will just randomly appear and disappear. Graphics are really good and gameplay was good.

having enjoyed all previous episodes of the series I had high expectations from unity. I found the game full of bugs, the character had on occasion a mind of its own. All this after. Having to send my x box away for repair when it had a meltdown during initialising and loading the game and the dlc pack. Hope rogue turns out better.
