This board works well and the sockets are quite nicely laid out. It has the ability to use DDR2 or DDR3 RAM (but not both at the same time).
The model I have is the N68C-S UCC has a AMD2+ CPU socket but in the product specs it say AMD3 Socket,(further down the page) Remember it will only take a maximum 95 watt CPU.
Good for updating as you could fit an AMD3 CPU and DDR3 ram

I used this to upgrade an old PC and am pretty pleased with it now although it was not all plain sailing. I liked the functionality that was compatible with my ancient hardware (Floppy disk, parallel printer port, IDC drives) and supporting DDR2 and DDR3 memory (either/or, not both together!) is handy. I also liked the fact that you can put a wide spectrum of processors from the AM range in. Mine was a cheap upgrade so it was a £[] processor for me and I am pretty impressed with that but it is nice to know I can upgrade later.

I do not play around with PC's very often and did encounter a few problems. First board I got had defective USB ports (the header connection ones). Could only measure 2V on the power pins. New board fixed that. Also found that the screen lost sync repeatedly and PC locked up. Eventually resolved this by turning off the core-unlocker and Cool'n'quiet things in the BIOS. That was quite annoying since you tend to think the "default setting" will also be the "safe settings". Wrong. Make sure too that you match the BIOS exactly to your memory clock speed. You also might like to know that the ethernet port doesn't "appear" in the system till you install the software from the disk. This was not something I was expecting when I tried to register Windows through the internet, naively thinking it would be there, at least as a basic port, straightaway.

All in all though, a good all-round upgrade-motherboard for the price, just a bit frustrating getting it configured properly if you are a bit out of practice like me.

Think this is worth the money by far, very nice and easy to setup, to put the processor in is easy enough and a very good runner. perfect for first time computer builders.
