Product Description

A charming tale which takes us to the time of brave knights and chivalry. A touching story of courage and friendship brought to life by vivid characterization and rich descriptions. Wonderful!

About the Author

Friedrich de la Motte Fouque (1777 - 1843), a German novelist and playwrightof the Romantic Movement, was born in Brandenburg. He is best known for his fairy tale, Undine (1811). He served in the army during the Napoleonic era and took part in the Rhine campaign of 1794. Fouque expressed the daring ideals of chivalry in his writings to infuse a sense of German custom and national character in his contemporaries. Der Zauberring (1813) is also one of his famous works. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

"Listening to celestial lays,
Bending thy unclouded gaze
On the pure and living light,
Thou art blest, Aslauga'a Knight!

"Send us from thy bower on high
Many an angel-melody,
Many a vision soft and bright,
Aslauga's dear and faithful Knight!"

Please add to the end! A picture on the cover would be nice too.
