Asking Better Questions is an invaluable text that breaks down approaches to inquiry that have enhanced my results as an educator and journalist. It was required reading for graduate students of education at New York University. From the strategies described within this structured resource, students respond with greater understanding and more thoughtful answers.
As a newspaper reporter I develop a relationship that begins with preparation for questions. Long questions prompt short answers while one word questions elicit longer answers. Listening skills allow for appropriate follow ups that encourage subjects to expand and express their thinking.
As to scaffolding or ordering questions, I imagine attorneys and law enforcement would find this book very helpful toward discerning truth.
My copy is dog-eared and worn from repetitive use. With practical application you will discover more meaning from improved professional practices..
