The ASICS GEL-PROGRESSIVE Indoor Court Shoes feature a DuoMax midsole which offers enhanced support and stability for indoor court playing to a high level. With Rearfoot and Forefoot Gel cushioning, this shoe will absorb all the impacts inherent to indoor sports such as squash and badminton, making for a more comfortable shoe underfoot. A memory foam lining provides a more personal heel fit for additional comfort and control. The ASICS High Abrasion Resistance rubber located on the outsole will mean this shoe lasts longer and provides more traction.
I play a lot of squash and worn various makes of shoes over some 40 years. For the past few years I have worn Asics of which this is the latest version. I have long (slim!) feet and the fit suits me better than say Prince or the more recent HiTecs. Asics shoes take punishment and last for ages. I can get a year out of them playing 3 times a week. I use Sorbothane double strike insoles for a bit more protection against bruising and fit the shape well. Grip and flexibility are fine. My only slight concern is that the tongue is not as stiff as in previous versions and I can feel the laces slightly more when I pull them tight. But having said that 3 games this week and I can't say it held me back. They are a bit redder in colour than the picture suggests!
I'm disappointed with these squash trainers. Poor grip and support. Having had the Gel Blast 3 before these, there is no comparison. After a month of use am now considering a new pair from a different brand.
