I gave these powders to my twins 10 years ago, which worked a treat. Couldn't get them in Australia, so ordered them online for my new baby. They stop him crying almost immediately. Well worth getting them imported! Many thanks for helping trying teething times.
When my wife brought this home and started espousing the various miraculous properties I was deeply suspicious and figured she'd been suckered in by some horrifically smug more-money-than-sense middle class 'how to be a perfect parent and be organic and carbon neutral...blah blah...look at litttle Jemimah, she's only three months and she can already conduct' type telly programme whilst on maternity leave / a case of 'what really stupid thing can we convince people to buy now...' type piece of consumerism.
And she may well have been.
But this stuff works. Within seconds. Really. Seconds. Teething child + a gob full of this = a general sense of peace, goodness and everything being right with the world descends.
There's probably instructions about how to administer it (and in case social services are reading this any implicit lack of reading them / operating a baby without due care and attention on my part is hyperbole) but we've found opening the packet and tipping some straight into her gaping maw is particularly effective. A damp dummy dipped in the dust (apologies for the alliteration) also provides sufficient and nigh on instantaneous pacification.
Admittedly our little bundle of gurning and dribbling is perfectly happy with any brand of baby crack as it has become known round here so the more costly branded one isn't necessarily needed, though appreciate some (particularly people having their first go at this 'not dropping this baby thing what's done gone appeared on its head' malarkey) might find reassuring.
Good stuff. Does the job. Tad pricey.
5 stars for loving the effect it has on small crying terrors, not for having tried it for myself...honest..
This teething powder is like sprinkling magic fairy dust in your childs mouth. The crying stops instantly, my daughter gets excited when she sees the packet. I didn't think this would work becasue it is herbal. I was wrong best teething powder in the world. Amazing.
I've read that this is scarce because drug dealers use it to cut with cocaine. The high price is both a product of its scarcity/our market economy (simply demand is greater than supply), and also a deterrent to said drug dealers, making it slightly less cost effective for them to use as a cutting agent and ensuring that genuine parents get their hands on it.
The powder, if used as intended, actually works a treat! For parents with screaming babies, most will pay anything to ease their pain.
These powders are great but please don't buy them from Amazon. The price is a disgrace, Google Ashton and Parsons and you will get three packets for £15. Sorry Amazon but I always buy from you but don't rip people off for a babies teething powder.
