I am a huge fan of the Come Org. era stuff. The whole minimilist package, the feeling of threat and unknown - the whole deal. This is Whitehouse's most recent release and it just doesn't grab me like before. There is a gigantic shift in sound ...i don't rate this ' rapid fire questions ' type of vocals that Bennett and Best have adopted for their last few WH CD's. I just can't get into it. Also, the laptop software V keyboard approach. The sounds on here are great but they just don't grab me by the throat. Maybe it's because i have become accustomed to the earlier stuff ? If this was your first exposure to WH then i suspect this would be the best ever and early LP's would be basic.
The presentation is high gloss CD cover with pics of Bennett and Best. Again, whilst this is of high quality, the full cover gloss just makes this another record industry product with no threat that Whitehouse court.
I feel this CD is made up of offcuts from their previous releases as it offers little difference.
It's still listenable but no way near a classic.
