4.0 out of 5 stars start of a new series I hope 11 Aug 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a novella featuring a new cast of detectives from Tim Ellis who really excels in this genre. A good mix of characters from the ready to retire inspector to the boy wonder superintendent along with a particularly gruesome murder make a great read. The only reason I gave it 4 stars not 5 was that I would have loved a longer story. Hopefully the author will expand on these promising characters in the future.

4.0 out of 5 stars Short but Sweet 31 Dec 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I thouroughly enjoyed this murder mystery. It was engaging and well written, and reflects on some of the issues of our time, namely the results of the recession such as the pension crisis.
The plot itself is well structured and the murder itself is originally described.
My only gripe of course is the left of the book. It was finished in one sitting, and like having a short snack, I was hungry for more.
An engrossing novella that needed more writing. 8\10
