Product Description

Product Description

They were supposed to ride off into the sunset and live out the cliche of happily ever after. They were supposed to have two-point-five kids, buy a minivan, carve out a slice of suburbia, and stay healthy and young and beautiful forever. They weren't supposed to make mistakes, have tempers or fights or bad days. They weren't supposed to split up. But with 18 years of marriage, 4 kids, a cat, and The Issue between them, Chip and Terry Davis aren't quite sure what to do when the distance between them seems to far to cross--or what to do when a simple case of the flu crosses it for them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chip & Terry Part 2 24 Jun 2009
By eReader1 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Following on from Charybdis, "As Simple As That" is set some 15+ years later. Chip & Terry have teenage kids and have had, it seems, a great marriage. But somewhere along the line, something very simple went wrong and the two of them don't know how the cross the bridge to even talk to one another.

Both Chip & Terry are strong characters, and it shows. Neither seem willing to back down, although they both want to. Who will be first? What can their teenage kids do, and how will they cope after their parents seemingly perfect marriage crumbled around them with no explanation?

The characters are as likable as ever, and I imagine anyone who enjoyed Charybdis will be rooting for them in "As Simple As That".

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not quite as good as the first one... 29 April 2009

This second book in the Davis Family Trilogy just didn't have the impact the first one did.

However, it was still a good read.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good book, but there is a better place to start 24 Aug 2010

I first read "As Simple As That" and thoroughly enjoyed it. So I went back and bought "The Charybdis Novels" which included "As Simple as That". I recommend buying "The Charybdis Novels" which includes the first 3 of the books in the series so you can read them in order.

I very much enjoyed these books. I liked how the first person voice changed throughout the books. It is well worth spending the couple of dollars to read these books.
