The Crosby-Stills-Nash-like three piece don't quite scrape the sky but instead produce a nice little, non-offensive, non-groundbreaking, record. Most of the songs are pretty simple with repeating lyrically phrases sung in interlacing harmonies by the three.
The album isn't over beard by Harper or Arthur and each artist give each other room to breath, there's a lot of space on this record, which maybe one of the reasons why you can play it and let it fade into the background, and you only notice its lack of presence when it's over. Harrison sounds great on this album, and in parts you can really tell he's his father's son, this is completely evident on the track "Father's Son" which also happens to be the best track on the album. With this track you really feel the trio are souring at their peak.
All in all you get the feeling that if Harper, Arthur and Harrison spent a little longer on this album they could have come up with something truly amazing. But the be honest this album is a lot better than Harpers "Relentless 7" or Arthurs "Lonely Astronauts," this album just sounds more like them.
So this album is a positive step for each artist and hopefully will be the start of something great.
Remember CSN's first album? Then they came back with Déjà vu.
Note about the CD: Amazon say it's "temporarily unavailable" why? This is a mayor release by major artists.
Secondly the price £20. shocking?
