Product Description

This twin wireless doorbell set is simple to install with no electrical wiring and no expensive through-the-wall drilling!

Installation is as easy as mounting the weather resistant transmitter to any exterior door or wall and placing the receiver unit into a mains socket up to 120 metres away.

To extend coverage to more rooms, we have included an additional receiver that can also be used within 120 metres of the transmitter.

There are 52 polyphonic melodies to choose from including the traditional 'Ding Dong' as well was a volume control switch with an impressive range of 20-85dB, perfect for those hard of hearing.

A LED indicator has been installed on both the receivers and the transmitter and will operate when the bell has been pushed.

This very modern wireless doorbell set also includes a memory function, this means when the doorbell is unplugged from the mains the doorbell will remember the chime and volume previously selected and start again on these settings

I'd purchased this doorbell as a replacement for another 2 plug-in chime unit that started randomly going off in the middle of the night - after the second time, it was clear that water ingress was causing a problem, prompting me to look at a number of possible replacements. This is the one I settled on.

Unlike my previous unit, this one has the tune set by the chime rather than the bell push. This isn't a problem for me, as we only have a bell on the front door, but if you were looking for something where you could identify which of a number of doors a visitor was waiting, you should probably look elsewhere.

We wanted a dual chime unit as we live in a three storey house, and it's difficult to position a single chime so that it can be heard from anywhere, particularly if internal doors are shut. One is placed in the hall with just double glazing and a PVC door between it and the bell push, but the other is placed in the second floor (a converted loft). In a straight line it's only about ten metres away, but it has to pass through a lot of brick and steel I-beams to get there. We've had no problems at all with signal strength in this set up - a press of the button rings both chimes without fail.

The setup was a little tight for this unit. A post mortem (I'm an electronics engineer, I couldn't resist) of our old unit reveled that water ingress was likely to be causing the phantom ringing in out old unit, so I was keen to make sure this wasn't going to be a problem with this unit. The bell push comes with a sticky pad or screws. Ideally, we'd have used the sticky pad on the side of the PVC door, but the bell push is quite wide and we didn't have a face wide enough to accommodate it, so it had to be screwed in to the brick at the side.

It is not the cheapest of plug-in door chimes on the market, but it is definitely not the most expensive and has some of the qualities of the best on the market. You get what you pay for and this one is easy to install, set up and use, like most plug-ins, but this one looks very stylish, unlike most other products and has a high quality finish. It not only looks like a fine quality product, it is the loudest of all the many similar products I have used over the years from all manufacturers. The volume button gives a good range to suit all needs, which is a rare but welcome feature. The stylish blue light on the bell push lets callers know it is working and, on the ringers, let me know someone is calling, however quiet the volume is set to. Another plus for me is that both ringers are plug-ins, which is not always the case. I haven't been able to confirm the full wireless transmission range, but it certainly works without problem in my garage 50 metres away in a separate building behind my house. My only complaint is that some of the tunes are a little tinny sounding, but there are 52 to choose from and some are very pleasant, including three varieties of traditional 'ding-dong'. If you can't find a ring tone you can live with from this varied selection you might as well give up on a door chime altogether. I cannot guarantee its lifespan but I have no reason to doubt its longevity. I will certainly look out for it in future when I do need a replacement... that's if there are any left after my friends have finished buying them.

received in good order well packed and on time
as worked well from day one and as a large selection of tones
the only fault i found is with the bell push and that is the cover will not stay on unless you glue it
as the cover holds the transmitter i would suggest it needs a lot of improvement preferably one that stays on
its for this reason i can only rate it 3 stars

No mess, no hassle. Two mins out of the box, put the supplied battery in and it works, even through several, thick, walls

Had this doorbell for a week or so, and it is working fine. Extends to an outhouse about 40 metres away from the front door no problem. The ring tone is pleasant, a gentle ding-dong (lots of others but we stayed with the first) with volume control, which we set on maximum.
The other receiver, placed in our lounge, is loud enough to hear through most of the house, only not if I am in my very back room about 30 metres away through a closed door, with the washing machine on, but this is no problem to me. It was very easy to assemble, and came with clear instructions. I hope I will be able to get hold of a replacement battery easily enough, as I've never seen one like that before.
We are very happy with the purchase and service.

With one unit at the foot of the stairs and the other in the room furthest from the bellpush, the chimes are heard throughout the house by my wife, who wears modern hearing aids and for whom clear high frequencies are essential. The wide choice of tunes helps tpp! The bellpush is in a porch, and thus protected from the weather - I anticipate long life. My only criticism so far is that the push lacks an obvious "button" - it could be a movement detector, or a thermostat - and for first-time callers we have had to label it....
