However, just when Arthur is starting to relax again, the dreams start once more; dreams of gods, dreams of war, dreams of wolves. It can mean only one thing. Loki is back. In the midst of a deep snowfall, Loki plots his vengeance on Arthur. In the months since their last battle, the trickster God has been assembling a deadly army of wolves and he intends to take the world once and for all. Can Arthur trust his two new classmates? Where did Ash's puppy come from? And what is hidden in the National Museum that Loki is so desperate to get? About the Author

Born in Leitrim and now living in Dublin, Alan Early studied in the National Film School, Dun Laoghaire. Upon graduation in 2008, he co-founded Annville Films. From an early age he used to write and illustrate short stories about Banshees and ghost animals and whatever else struck his imagination. When he was ten, he visited Dublinia, a recreated Viking village and so began a love affair with Viking lore.

4.0 out of 5 stars still good 1 May 2013

The second installment of this series proves to be just as good as the first. Luckily there are fewer loopholes, but probably twice as much usage of the phrase 'just then'. To the author, I am begging you: please stop using 'just then'!

Once more, fans of Norse mythology might enjoy this series, but those who like to stick to the actual mythology will want to avoid this. Loki's children are again taken in a different light, away from their true mythological selves.

Otherwise, this was an exciting and creative book with the usual plot twists and a bit of predictable plot. The author gives Loki possibly more character than anyone else in the series, making him a very enjoyable bad guy (even though as a Lokean, I have to say, he isn't an evil god). I look forward to the third book to see how the author will approach Hel (and hopefully get something going with Mjolnir).
