Considering this film has two established actors (Colin Firth & Emily Blunt) in the lead roles, I thought this would be an enjoyable watch. How wrong was I - it was just an odd story for two such high profile actors. I've always enjoyed the other films of these two actors, but this really was a let down! As a consequence, I only watched half of it before turning it off! It was a complete waste of money and I've now sold it on to one of those DVD purchasing sites. A BIG disappointment!

Uninspiring characters, a dull concept, a bad script and performances all combine to make me want to kill myself after watching this. With all the great scripts floating about out there, it is truly hard for me to understand why this film was made. I had to leave a review as this film was rocking four stars - which is really misleading. I just wanted to save people the mind numbing experience of watching this film.

We purchased this DVD on the strength of the actors. If they top your list of favourites then the film is worth watching if for no other reason than to see them practice their art with considerable ability. Storyline plausible but sound-bite script and direction poor. Will watch the DVD again in order to attempt to divine the reasons for some of the scenes.

A bit of a "Marmite" film , if you have a sensitive nature and can understand what it's like to have an unfulfilled life and desperately want to change it but you don't know how you'll probably like this film. It follows the faked suicide of Arthur and his meeting Mike (Emily Blunt) causing them to form a tentative relationship that proves to be symbiotic, apart from that nothing much happens but it's a strangely tender tale that I thought was well acted and poignant.

This is supposedly a "comedy". watched about a third and realised it is anything but. Must be the worst film that the gorgeous Emily Blunt has made, or at least that I've seen of hers. She is usually reliable for a good watch, but I was very disappointed. Will not be watching the rest of the film as nothing to look forward to.
