Product Description

Hidden deep within the ancient, mist-covered hills of Glastonbury, England is a secret that could forever change the world. A secret that could help usher in a new age of enlightenment for all mankind.

Or so the legend goes....

Plagued by months of persistent dreams of King Arthur, Merlin and the Holy Grail, mystery novelist James Dupree finally sets out to England to understand the meaning behind his nightly visions. Upon arriving in Glastonbury, a locale deeply connected to stories of Camelot, Avalon and the Knights of the Round Table, James quickly discovers that not all is as it seems in this quaint little town. There's a raven-haired girl dying of a rare lung disease, knights with swords, and perhaps strangest of all is the man who emerges from the forest...a man who just might be the greatest king Britain has ever seen.

Something is happening in Glastonbury, something mysterious and powerful and not-of-this world, and somehow James Dupree is in the thick of it. Mankind is ready for the next great spiritual shift. But to do that, one man, one simple writer, must journey deep into the heart of a mystical land in search of a legendary relic.

But there are others who seek the treasure...dark forces who will stop at nothing to keep it for themselves, and end Dupree's quest for good.

At once inspiring and pulse-pounding, ARTHUR is for anyone who dares to dream—and dares to slay dragons.

**Acclaim for The Grail Quest Trilogy and J.R. Rain**

"King Arthur lives! 'Arthur' is a must read for any Camelot fan. An insightful look at the human condition wrapped up in a great adventure story!"
—GEMMA HALLIDAY, bestselling author of Spying in High Heels and Deadly Cool

"Not only was 'Arthur' a wonderful Arthurian tale and page-turning adventure, but the spiritual lessons interwoven in the storyline gave me pause to consider a new perspective on many things. Let me put it this way, I'll be 'redipping' frequently into several passages—especially the one involving James and the dragon. Powerful stuff. Imagery and prose I'll never forget! And that's on top of the impish sense of humor Rain brings to his writing."
—AIDEN JAMES, bestselling author of Plague of Coins and Cades Cove

"Gripping, adventurous, and romantic—J.R. Rain's The Lost Ark is a breakneck thriller that traces the thread of history from Biblical stories to current-day headlines. Be prepared to lose sleep!"
—JAMES ROLLINS, international bestselling author of The Devil Colony and Altar of Eden

"I enjoyed this immensely. The protagonist, Samantha Moon, is a female vampire with a husband and children. Those predate her condition; six years ago she was attacked by a vampire and rendered into one. Now she's trying to carry on with family and private eye business, and she's a feisty, skilled person, so is doing mostly okay. It is not a horror story; she buys animal blood to eat and doesn't generally prey on humans. But her husband has an increasing problem with her coldness—not of spirit, but of body. 'You sicken me and scare the hell out of me,' he tells her. 'And when I touch you it's all I can do to not gag.' She replies, 'Words every wife wants to hear.' I love this! What makes it special are her character and nature."
—PIERS ANTHONY, New York Times bestselling author of Trail Mix: Amoeba and A Spell for Chameleon

Gripping! 25 April 2011

Arthur (The Grail Quest Trilogy #1)

I have been looking forward to reading this book. I love the legend of King Arthur and am seriously hooked on J R Rain's writing! The first chapter blew me away, it was so intense. The book is written in first tense and what is unusual in this case is, it's written as if J R himself is the main character. To be honest I have no idea what Mr Rains first name is but coincidently, the main character - James - is remarkably similiar to our Mr Rain himself! I am equally in love with and confused with how the novel progresses from here. The main character, James, is compelled to seek relief from some vivid dreams involving the Holy Grail and the legend of King Arthur and comes to England, namely Glastonbury, to find some answers. What follows is mind blowing. I don't want to spoil the surprise but it's certainly not what I expected. The writing is superb but I expected no less from J R Rain. The story ends much too soon, just when the reader, and James, begin to have an inkling of whats going on.... I'll just have to sit tight and wait for the next instalment, Merlin, to be written!

This book reads more like a diary: a story written by an author who is trying to get away from writing crime stories, and fancies writing something more spiritual, and in the meantime is dragged to England by strange dreams he has about the Holy Grail. Once he reaches England he meets some strange characters and is soon involved in an adventure which does turn out to be vaguely spiritual (but not overbearingly so) and promises more excitement to come in further instalments.

Enjoyable fun 26 Jan 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I am not normally a fan of King Arthur stories, and admit that the low price was the main thing driving my purchase of this book. However, I read the book very quickly, enjoyed it and found it to be a very modern "take" on the King Arthur genre - far from the usual.

The Author's quirky humor was also to my liking, and had me laughing out loud at some points.

So whilst this book did not have the depth or substance that I expected considering the blurb provided and subject-matter (I was expecting more along the lines of Mark Chadbourn's Lord of Misrule series, for some reason), it was a fun bit of fluff that I enjoyed and can recommend. I will try to catch the sequel when it is released.

Tell yourself daily that you are becoming clearer and clearer in what you want, in what you seek, and clarity will come. And once it comes, I would suggest that you think often and speak often of this thing that you want. Do so every day, many times a day. And the more you think and speak upon this thing, the faster it will manifest into your experience. "e;
