From the Back Cover

A "Lost World" that time forgot, populated by prehistoric creatures not seen on this earth for 50 million years - that is the astonishing possibility presented by Professor George Edward Challenger to the Royal Geographic Society of London, England. A gruff, impossible, Challenger calls for an expedition to prove - or disprove - this incredible claim, first presented by Professor White, who died on a prior expedition to this supposed "Lost World." Challenger and his expedition set off on a journey to the edge of the earth. The explorers find a landlocked island that time, and evolution, forgot. By creating a primitive hot-air balloon, the hardy adventurers manage to enter this dark cauldron of humanities infancy, venturing on to explore a world of the Stegosaurus and T-Rex, Brontosaurus and Raptor, and finally make contact with a race of humanities ancestors who make human sacrifices to their dinosaur gods....

Brilliant Adaptation 28 Aug 2009
Format:DVD
A brilliant adaptation of the Arthur Conan Doyle classic. Really didn't have very high expectations for this film given the lack of really big names but it turned out to be one of the best of all the versions.

dinosaurs 15 April 2003
Format:DVD
This is a must have DVD for any dinosaur fanatic. It is based on the book the lost world by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It is more or less along the same story line as the book but a lot better, and some new characters added to make the story line more interesting.

It is not the best dinosaur film but at the same time it is by no means the worst as it is not far behind the Jurassic Park films.

It is basically about two men who are trying to prove each other wrong as to wither the lost world exists or not. Therefore to prove either way the two men bring together an expedition group and go in search of the prehistoric world that has been lost through time and become a myth.

This film does have blood and gore as it is a dinosaur film and most of the prehistoric dinosaurs that the film shows are the big flesh eating dinosaurs such as T-rex, as well as the fast and deadly Velociraptor.

Not much else can be said as it will spoil the story line. But basically if you love dinosaur films you will love this film too. There is something for most tastes; a love plot, adventure, a bit of gore, etc. The special affects and visuals are amazing.

Absolute Rubbish. 8 April 2011
Format:DVD
M.J.Thompson has said most of what can be said about thia parade of poppycock. When I saw the name of Conan Doyle in the title I hoped that the film would reflect its origin.Well the names of the characters partly matched up except that the heroic Lord John Roxton of the book became a thoroughly nasty piece of work named Peter Roxton who was definitely not a lord.Professor Challenger could not have been less like the original.Instead of the roaring lion of the original we had cooing dove who wouldn`t have said boo to a goose let alone a pterodactyl.Of course the politically correct woman had to be included. In fact there were two and the wrong one was ripped apart by a herd of velociraptors.
Absolute baloney.Minus two stars.
