Product Description

Arthur C Clarke has been hailed as 'one of the true geniuses of our time'. His novel, '2001: A Space Odyssey', was one of the most popular space adventures ever written, and the film of the book won Clarke and director Stanley Kubrick cult status. In this rare interview from his tropical paradise home in Sri Lanka, Clarke talks about his life, from his upbringing in rural Somerset to the writing of his latest best-seller, '3001: The Final Odyssey'.

3.0 out of 5 stars Peculiar choice. 14 Dec 2006
By Ian Armer VINE™ VOICE
An odd choice for a release this. It was originally aired to coincide with the release of 3001, and is basically an interview with Arthur and filmed snippets to accompany his book. From what I can remember it's a nice documentary. I still think it's an odd choice for a DVD release 10 years after the event. Very strange. Still, it's always nice to listen to Clarke and his views on mankind and the future technologies have always been positive, so it's worth checking out if you're a fan, or ir if you'd like a nice introduction to the man himself.

3.0 out of 5 stars The great Arthur C Clarke 11 Jun 2011
By A-J
I'm not sure what I expected, but this, to me, doesn't do the man full justice. It is interesting and entertaining, but seems to skim along the surface of the amazing things this incredible man did.
