Personaly, I'm a big fan of Eric Sera and already have most of his works (Le Grand Bleu, Jeanne D'Arc, Nikita, Rollerball, Subway, Léon, The fifth element, Bulletproof Monk, Goldeneye, Atlantis and since now the Trilogy of Arthur & the invisibles).
Is this one his best work? No. Is it his worst? No. It's one of his most orchestral ones, maybe like The fifth element, Léon or Goldeneye. It sounds very light and playfull, but some tracks are a little bit tainted with darkness but not too much, because it is and stays a family movie, so Serra is not frightening the younger ones with 'spooky' music.
What's typical in this one (and even in the other two Arthur's) is the shortness of the tracks, but don't bother too much because all the tracks are seamless mixed to each other, so it doesn't sound as short as it really is. Before you realize it, you're listening to track 12 or more.
All in all, this cd is pretty enjoyable for fans of Serra, like me. If you're not a fan, maybe you should try it even more, because it's not a typical Serra-cd like Nikita or Le Grand Bleu.

A SOUNDTRACK THAT WILL MAKE YOU SMILE... 19 Dec 2008
By Jeff Hertel - Published on Amazon.com

Though "Arthur and the Invisibles" is a modern day musical soundtrack, the feeling or texture feel older. Which is a GOOD thing. The artist's that picked by Eric Serra are good matches for the soundtrack. So grab your album and, a bowl of popcorn and, ENJOY!
