I was excited by the pending arrival of my V3, as I was looking forward to working on some vocals at the weekend in my very humble studio of a sound card, software and the old but awesome SY85.
The parcel arrived and, damn, it was the wrong one. It was the V3, but without the variable valve voicing. I wanted the voicing.
I got in touch with Amazon who then put me in touch with Absolute Music. I spoke to a guy named Paul.
The ordered was fixed on the day and I received the correct parcel the next working day. I was very pleased with their customer service, and I will definitely use them again. Great work.
As for the item: encased in steel; using a valve instead of transistors for a warmer sound, the V3 delivers a very large (compressed/clipped) signal when using the various settings of up to 40dBs with an extra boost of 20dBs (for use with a condenser mic) on the input, with a further 10dBs on the output. It also has phase reverse for use with more than one mic. The V3 looks and sounds the part. A recommended buy for amateurs and professionals alike.
