A Very Well Done Book On The Subject of Throwing Knives, Axes, Stars, Or Pretty Much Anything Else 3 Nov 2008
By Shawn Kovacich - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I found this book to very informative and literally loaded with a ton of good solid principles and concepts related to the art of throwing knives, axes, throwing stars, and a variety of other objects.

The layout of the material presented and the format were very well done, and other than possibly having a few more pictures of the various throwing sequences, this book solidly deserves the 5 star rating that I have given it.

The author is obviously very knowledgeable about the art of throwing and as he states in his book, all you need is a little knowledge, and lots and lots of practice. If the subject matter of this book is of interest to you, then you couldn't ask for a much better book than the one presented here. Here are a couple of other very good books on the subject.

Good Book 28 May 2007
By Lance Cross - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a good book on Throwing. The author collected learning curve statistics that were very motivational in nature. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. The wonderful thing about the book was the variety of things that were thrown. Get the book and open up some doors in your throwing skills.

I would hope the author is continuing writing good books of this nature and as an avid reader hope that a book would be written blunt thrown objects, and or other projectile launchers.

The Art of Throwing, or Unique Personality 1 Oct 2010
By Basil Lenkov - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book is written by Amante P. Mariñas, Sr., a man of unique personality. All details about throwing implements which are legends in China and secrets of schools in Japan become working materials and subjects of thinking and practise in the book. I mean statistics and reasonable thinking after more then 1,300,000 times of throwing. Absolutely great and unique practice of thousand and thousand hours.

There are 131 figures of illustrations from scientific diagrams of rotation to statistic tables and bunch of black-and-white photos of implements and hands on 111 pages. A curious fact, there is no my favourite grip and stance:) and only carton boxes as targets, no old and died trees in the mountains `man of old stuck'. From more then 30 titles of Ancient Chinese Hidden Weapons by Douglas H.Y. Hsieh the author chose some closer to him, right; from many kinds of shuriken - Shuriken-Do by Shirakami Ikku-Ken- he chose some closer to him again, right again. Why tantou gata shurikens have been missed from the list, it would be so interesting to know technical details and details of flying qualities from the such great master. Maybe, next edition?

The book teaches us the world of weapons is extremely huge, you have to choose your own places and stances, your best knives/other implements/ and distances, get favourite techniques of concentration and movement, live in a peaceful time practising martial art, and reading books written by professionals. This one is one of the best better to stick with.
