This is a wonderful book. One simple reason why? It speaks volumes about the people who authored it and their experience of the ultimate genre. They may not have been to every gig or event mentioned in the book but I bet they have seen and heard their share's worth. Images speak words and frankly I could stare at the images in this book for days and just absorb more language. What I like the most is the non criticism. All the bands referred to get the same treatment be it Patti Smith or the Suburban Studs. This is an observer's view of how a scene can come together then re-shape and re-form. Cleverly it doesn't try to get all hipster on our asses and in a good way Sonic Youth for example are only bit part players. Enjoy this book I know you will!

A spendid book, anyone with half an interest in the punk rock revolution will be enthralled by this. It's a well researched and beautifully illustrated book. You can see the influence of this pop filth today especially in fashion. See how it all started here.
