Product Description

Product Description

This manual satisfies two needs for students and teachers using The Art of Electronics as a text: • It sets forth 23 laboratory exercises that can form the backbone of a one- or two-semester course in electronics, both analog and digital • It supplements the text's explanations of selected topics which have been chosen for their importance to a student, rather than a practitioner who uses the text as a reference. The manual is a product of many years' teaching at Harvard University, where the authors have tested and refined both lab exercises and explanations. The result is a set of course materials tailored to students' needs, moving quickly where appropriate and slowly on those concepts that students have found most difficult.

3.0 out of 5 stars Easy to understand electronics., 12 May 1999

This review is from: The Art of Electronics Student Manual (Plastic Comb)
The student edition of the art of electronics as quite easy to undestand giving quick, clear and concise explanations of basic electronics. I would not reccommend this book though as a stand alone, but rather with the lab manual and any of the other associated mterial that was written in parallel, as a thier is a lot of space dedicated to lab exercises which can not be fully utilised without the lab manuals etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Students manual for The Art of Electronics, 23 Mar 2011
This review is from: The Art of Electronics Student Manual (Plastic Comb)
I love this book, its the sort of book that you can dip into or read a chapter when you need to double check your thinking. I also have the full "The Art of Electronics" book but use this verison when I am teaching students and running workshops, as it introduces an element of fun with the hand drawn cartoons and schematics.

This should be a must for anyone interested or working in electronics. The book is ring bound so it lies flat on the desk, unlike the full hardback version.

I bought this thinking it would be offering the answers to all the exercises set in the "Art of Electronics" book.
Although it does give some well worked out exercises it falls short of being the "answer book".
It's worth purchasing if you're a student and want to see how one should work out an exercise. Otherwise, if you're a professional then you can easily pass it.
