Book Description

1 Feb 2008
Twelve images by famous artists, from Damien Hirst to Keith Haring and Julian Opie, jump off the pages of this funky, chunky cased board book that supports the NSPCC. Babies respond most to high-contrast black-and-white images, therefore the artwork has been specifically chosen for maximum visual stimulation. The enclosed wall frieze is the perfect decoration for the nursery of any budding artist.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEAUTIFUL 18 Nov 2008
My baby and I love reading this book together! She is fascinated by the bold graphics and strong contrasts, while I love seeing the terrific images from top contemporary artists. The books size, high quality production and light weight make it a pleasure, too...and the wall frieze that is tucked in to the inside cover was a great, unexpected surprise. I recommend this for anyone buying for their own young baby...or looking for a chic gift for a friend.

5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant 26 July 2009
We were given this book when our son was 6 months old and it has proved fanstastic. It got tons of use at night when he wasn't sleeping well with various temperatures/ teething problems etc. The great thing is that he could enjoy the high contrast black and white images even when I was keeping the light very dim to keep up at least a pretence of night time! He could turn the pages back and forth, enjoy the images, and there's no text so I didn't need to read anything - a good job when I was often totally exhausted and could barely string a setence together anyway! Usually I would just whisper comments alongside the images. Now he sleeps fine, but he still grabs the book to have a look. There are plenty of images and babies do seem to find it intriguing. It's also sturdy so should last a long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous present 7 Oct 2009
I've bought this for five or more friends as gifts when they had their babies. They have all loved it. For one of them it is part of their 'leave the house kit', keeping the poster version in their bag for those tetchy or need to entertain moments as it never fails to get their little girl to laugh heartily. Great to know some of the price goes to NSPCC. Buy it early on as seems to work well from a month or so in.
