A great season for Arsenal, winning the F.A. Cup, signing Mesut Ozil and the emergence of Ramsey. However if you were looking for a good way to review the season this DVD is not the way to do it.

Like last seasons disc the production here is an utter travesty. The majority of match highlight are blighted by the camera shuffling round all over the place so much that you can't actually see any of the passes and the goals are barely glimpsed.

The commentary is all from Arsenal's own in house commentary team and is completely dull and lifeless.

Even the Cup Final the crowning moment of the season is covered appallingly. They don't even show the cup being lifted at the top of the famous steps.

I have bought every season review disc since 2002 and thought last years was a blip but the trend for cheaply produced rubbish has unfortunately continued. Approach with caution!

Put simply, it's unwatchable. One of Arsenal's best seasons in years and it has all been captured in this shambolic mess. Like other reviewers, I have been purchasing Arsenal VHS/DVDs since the mid 1990's and never before have I felt as let down as this, excepting last season.

Like last season, the commentators are also from Arsenal media and let's just say they're not Martin Tyler/John Motson and Gary Neville/Alan Smith. Nor are they particularly unbiased. "No problem, I'll mute it and listen to something else whilst I watch", I thought. However you have to listen to the commentary to find out who is doing what as you can't tell just by watching the action because the camera angles and camera work is beyond a joke.Whilst watching the opening league game v Aston Villa it's impossible to see who has scored the goal because not only is the camera angle apparently behind the defending goal but it then starts to shake and whizzes across the screen - you literally see Oxlade-Chamberlain with the ball, a blur, the commentator shouts "Giroud scores" and then you see Giroud wheeling away, though it's debatable as to whether it's Giroud or not as the camera is so far away. I gave it a chance because I thought that maybe it would only do this during defeats or unimportant games but no, it's pretty much like this for every game.

There is actually a plus point, which is that the interviews and some pre/post match hype is very good. The build-up preseason gives a sense of anticipation (though the narrator has an annoying voice) and at the end of the games, unlike some previous Arsenal DVDs, it shows you the score and scorers. But unfortunately this is still not enough to give the DVD more than a one-star review.

It is very simple.........I have had all Arsenal season reviews on DVD since 1999-2000 season.

They have all been fantastic.....because they have all been created by ITV PRODUCTIONS....I am sure all Gunners fans will agree with me!

But it ends there.......the 2012-2013 season and now 2013-2014 season have been taken over by ILC MEDIA and it is completely rubbish....camera angles.....commentary....ect.

PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON BUYING THIS AS YOU WILL BE REALLY DISAPPOINTED!

ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT ITS SUCH A SHAME.....

like many others who have been avidly buying the end of season reviews since they came into play (1988/9) this seasons effort is amazingly woeful and is mind boggling considering we 'the arsenal' are the worlds 4th most valuable football team, this production is something i wouldn't expect a FL2 side to knock up.

from the awfully flat in-house commentary that with normal audio removed leaves a hollow and distant feel to the insane non normal up high camera angles which dilutes many a great goals scored as well as the eye hurting varying editing during build up play which loses all focus as the angles constantly change up.
also the zooming in of the players, its like watching the battle scene from star wars : attack of the clones, doesn't show the crowd, the stadium, other players in the distance in a moment of joy.

only plus point is the additional footage but that should be standard with any end of season review, go back a decade and the club included reserve, ladies, u18's etc action of which no doubt the club would have hundred of hours of stock piled over the season gone as feature on arsenal TV, the arsenal football channel.
zero bonus features whatsoever and for a club bigger than just the pitch (stadia/community/hale end/junior gunners etc) is such a wasted opportunity

after a season where we finally came through after so much hurt/embarrassment where we actually had had something to celebrate for once this kinda spits on those memories

do not buy, better off watching the youtube compilations

Horrible production, goals only shown on a terrible close up camera angle and the commentators are all Arsenal employed.

Come back ITV production.

A memorable season for Arsenal fans should mean a fantastic DVD review of the season. Sadly this is not the case.
The use of Arsenal's in-house content (player interviews, behind-the-scenes material and match day footage around the stadium) is welcome and adds colour and interest to the story of the season.
However... the DVD is ruining by the atrocious game footage which is mostly in close-up, cut at lightning pace and full of crashing zooms. It's impossible to see a lot of the key action of the season because of this ham-fisted directoral style.
There is also an annoying soundtrack behind the whole thing and the commentators are bland and uninteresting.
This is a DVD that I will never want to watch again, which is a shame because it covers a season that had many memorable moments.
Atrocious.
