Good strong practical piece of kit that works with a number of different sized staples. Good value for money.

Looks and feels heavy duty and well made (Arrow being about the top brand in staplers it makes sense.) Have used it numerous times and jammed a few times but not as often as other staple guns I've tried. Only one drawback is it takes a good strong hand to push the handle down (my wife was unable to do so.) We previously had Craftsman and they were much easier to use but after having 4 of them, and all of their spring mechanisms breaking (and don't think about trying to open and repair it as you'll never get it back together again,) I won't buy another Craftsman staple gun.

I bought this staple gun because the reviews seemed good. This is the second staple gun I've bought as the first one was simply useless. I use my staple guns for minor repairs needed this one to staple a thin piece of velcro to the top back of a door (not a metal door) I've just tried to do the job and the staples just curled up and wrapped themselves around the velcro strip. This staple gun is useless and I've just wasted my money.

... on a paper sticker on mine.
I think that's a warning.
As many reviewers have noted, this needs a fair bit of strength to fire, mainly because it's got a big heavy springy thing inside it and if it's held firmly in place when the squeezy thing is squeezed, it's likely to go in with commensurate force - effectively.

I have a vision of someone murdering with this and then claiming "it went off accidentally!" in the best Agatha Christie tradition. It can't. It won't. To murder someone with this you'd have to beat them round the head with it, during which procedure it STILL won't go off accidentally.
It needs a very determined effort to make the thing go, and I doubt many kids could use it, for example, but when it does go it works really well.

I've had a couple of cheapies, way back in the past and these didn't need anything like as much bicep to squeeze the squeezer, but they didn't have anything like as much penetrating power.
I think some folk may be struggling with the trigger so much that they are lifting the stapler OFF whatever they are fixing. This is a guaranteed fail. The stapler needs FIRM contact AS the staple is fired otherwise the staple will bounce. - Newton's third law of stapling.

Someone broke this on first use?
I'd hate to meet him (her???!!!)head on in a dark alley with no passing room, all green-skinned with trousers that don't fit, broken Buick under one arm...

Unless you've picked up a QC faulty model that's been assembled incorrectly or constantly use it in sandstorms or in the rain, I would expect this to outlive any purchaser. I'm presuming Arrow haven't gone the way of all British Industry and are now outsourcing their staplers to be made of tinfoil in Chiwan? Mine proudly says Made in U.S.

For the price, this is a great piece of kit, purchased to tack bird proofing netting to the wooden framework of a berry cane cage at the allotment. The tool accommodates several different lengths of staples, has the ability to drive the staples into hard wood, and the quality of the tool promises a long working life.

If you visit a furniture restorer who repairs upholstery you will find one of these. There probably will be an electric staple gun somewhere else gathering dust. Mine is thirty years old and hardly shows any signs of usage after having a couple of thousand staples through it.
Without a strong grip and bicep pressure these things are unuseable and lead to staples on the surface without sufficient penetration.
Their robust construction and tendency not to jam has made them the choice of the professionals for decades.

heavy and hard to fire so not good if you have a good deal of stapling to do as I did when I put up a lot of plastic sheet. these tools use the 140 staple so no need to pay through the roof prices for t50 ones . looking for something more lightweight now as I have more stapling to do and can't face it with this thing .thanks trevor
