The smash US sitcom Arrested Development returns for another season. The hilarious Season 1 saw Michael Bluth doing everything he could to keep the Bluth Company afloat, get his father out of jail and keep his family from destroying themselves and each other [all from behing the wheel of an airport stairlift] and Season 2 is no less frantic and hysterically funny. The family returns with the exact same pathetically-moronic charm and Michael again has to juggle fatherhood, family, finances and finding his own happiness. This second season still makes perfect watching, and never lets up on the laughs with perfect plot twists, unusually good guest stars (Liza Minelli returns as Lucille 2 and look out for the hilarious ex-Fonz Henry Winkler as the family's bumbling attourney Barry Zuckerkorn) and excellent-as-usual story pacing.
This seems to be the phrase of the year for U.S. sitcoms, but Arrested Development very well could be the best show on television, and a definate DVD must-have.

As with my review of the Season 1 box set, my aim is more to boost the average rating closer to five stars than having anything insightful to say.

I'm generally not a huge fan of American comedy so the fact that Arrested Development is one of my favourite ever shows says alot. The scripts and cast are top notch but it is the characters that keep me coming back. In particular GOB and Tobias are that rare breed of character that don't have to do or say anything to have you in stitches.

If you like clever dumb comedy then buy this now!

This is not an over the top comment from a fan. It received critical reviews and won many illustrious Emmy awards. It is very witty and well written and most important extremely funny. It is most similar to an English style of sitcom. Its an original witty American sitcom with no laughter track. This is bliss. All the actors and actress are brillant and stick to thier hilarious characters. Every one of the family cast memeber have a good shout for being your favourite charcter. Its not a one man show. This has all the ingredients in order to make a great sitcom and has been combined in a sublime manner.

SO WHATEVER YOU DO, MAKE SURE THAT YOU BUY THIS DVD. YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

Arrested development is (in my opinion) the best show in television history. it was cancelled after 3 short seasons and is not well known, but this show is a true gem. with great talent including Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, David Cross and Jeffory Tambor, hilarious naration by Ron Howard and some of the best writing possible. this is for more intelligent veiwers and fans of Seinfeld, Curb Your enthusiasm and Scrubs, but no show quite compares to this. with great characters like failing magician Gob, hopeless Doctor turned actor Tobias and panic attack mothers boy ridden Buster. season 1 and 3 are amazing too, but this is the best, as it's home to Mrs.featherbottom and some of the funniest lines in history, including 'oh your the marraige expert, oh wait i forgot, YOUR WIFE IS DEAD!' 'we shan't be telling your mother about this shan't we' and probably the funniest scene in history involving a man ('tobias' or david cross) dressed as mrs.featherbottom, or an exact copy of mrs.doubtfire, the second floor, an umbrella, a table and a jump and the greatest physical comedic moment ever. this show needs recognition so i encourage you to buy the dvd sets and you will not be dissapointed. maybe if you buy the dvd's enough it'll return, so spread the word of arrested development, and make sure you don't miss out on the best show in history and spread the word. 'we shall be telling your friends about this, shall we?'

"This is truly the greatest comedy known to mankind" is a phrase that is used too often these days, but this is truly the greatest comedy known to mankind. Series 1 was painfully funny and series 2 keeps up the standard. In Season 2, GOB becomes the new Bluth Company president, George Snr hides out in the attic at the model home, Buster has his hand bitten off by a loose seal, George Michael starts dating some girl whose name I can never remember and Tobias(my favourite character) joins the Blue Man Group and dresses up as Mrs. Featherbottom to get closer to Lindsay. You'll love it.

I really cannot believe that a show of such wit and originality, a show so spectacularly scripted and acted, a show that has been critically acclaimed by every critic and his mother, a show with a blue, never-nude named Tobias in it, has been cancelled after just 3 seasons. American audiences must have been confused by the exposure to real comedy that AD inflicted on them. Maybe they were just frightened by the absence of canned laughter to guide them through a tv show.

There have been protests and petitions to bring back this monumental show, but they are unlikely to succeed. The only thing we can do is buy the DVDs and hope for the "Family Guy Effect" to reoccur. So many people bought Family Guy DVDs all around the world that Fox brought it back from cancelation. Keep buying and maybe Fox will be the ones to say, "I've made a huge mistake."

'Season 2'
Despite the less than stellar ratings of the first season of 'Arrested Development', the FOX network decided to bring back the dysfunctional Bluth family back for another season.
With a couple of Emmy wins under their belt (best comedy among others), the show returned much to the delight of its supportive critics, and that of its relatively small viewer base.
In season 2, the family are more scattered than ever. George Snr has escaped from prison and is on the run, leaving his son Michael, the acting CEO of the Bluth Company, responsible for the families legal woes.
George Snr's wife Lucille and son Buster welcome Uncle Oscar into their lives as he lives with the family -- possibly rekindling an old flame with Lucille along the way, dropping not-so-subtle hints about the fruits of their former passions.
GOB enjoys a temporary bout of power as acting CEO of the Bluth Company but focuses his efforts on trying to recover his less-than-perfect career as a magician.
Michael's sister Lindsey and her husband Tobias are still trying to get their marriage and add a new dynamic in the aims of saving their marriage for their daughter, Maebe. Of course, this doesn't work out quite right, as Tobias is still under the delusion he'll make it as an actor.
Maebe and her cousin George Michael (Michael's son) are still in the darks about their feelings about each other. While George Michael is focused on his girlfriend, the less-than-desirable Ann, Maebe manages to up her career prospects tenfold.
