A short love story containing adult themes - "Ellie Jones has a talent for writing short stories and poignant romances with erotic content. Arousing Amelia is no exception."

Amelia, a young widow starved of male affection, is nervous about starting work in the huge office complex. After all, she has spent years at home looking after her two children. How will she cope? Will she look an idiot in front of all these fresh young people?
Karl, a gorgeous hunk, recently dumped by his girlfriend and feeling decidedly unwanted, takes it upon himself to show Amelia the ropes around the office complex.
The budding friendship releases volatile passions as they are drawn inexorably together.
However, as Karl discovers, there is far more to Amelia than just a sexy lady. She possess hidden depths that he would never have guessed in a million years. He would certainly never have pushed things this far had he known...

Excerpt - romantic erotica with alpha male
“So what does Hubby think about you wanting to work?”
Amelia shook her head. “I’m afraid I lost my husband more than eighteen months ago.”
“Jeez… I’m so sorry.”
“That’s okay. You weren't to know.”
“It must be hard for you.”
She nodded. “Harder for the girls.”
“How many?”
“Two. Jenny and Paulette. They’re great kids.”
Karl smiled. “Two sounds absolutely right.”
Amelia looked up. He was a beautiful young man, with smiling eyes that danced in the light. Without warning, her stomach lurched.
He said, “They must miss their Daddy.”
Her voice suddenly sounded husky. “Very much.” She cleared her throat. “Do you have any children?”
He shook his head. “I don’t even have a girlfriend. She dumped me a few weeks ago for a more expensive model. He owns a business. Better prospects.”
He took a new shirt from a cupboard, took the wrapping off, and shrugged the torn one from his body. Amelia gazed with fascination. He had wide shoulders, powerful arms, was full of gorgeous skin, and seemed completely unselfconscious as he slipped on the new shirt and tucked it into his trousers.
What an exquisite thing that would be, to put her hands down his trousers and tuck in his shirt…
He said, “Okay. I’ll get that drink now.”
Amelia watched him leave through the door, his ass tight and muscular, delightful. He seemed vibrant, so full of life that her blood pressure shot up. Right now it was probably through the roof. Karl exuded something totally raw and exciting that caused her head to spin. She couldn’t remember the last time someone stirred her like this, like an adult romance.

Warning - short stories by Ellie Jones contain adult themes unsuitable for under 18 yrs.

2.0 out of 5 stars Short erotic encounter, not a romance. 11 May 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a very short tale that is quite skilfully written, so that I didn't see the twist until a good way into it. It wasn't a romance, as there were no feelings involved, but it was an erotic encounter that was satisfying for both parties.

I didn't like it, however, given that Amelia has been on her own for 18 months, since her husband died, as it felt as if there should have been a bit of a romance for her, and, it was a bit cougar-ish.

Overall, readable, but not my idea of a romance, especially with the twist in the tale.
