This book is not an account of the action, Instead this account seeks to pay tribute by recording information about the organisation of the air and ground forces not always available readily. It also lists, believed for the first time, all British. Dutch, Polish and US gallantry awards and the citations for almost all the British medals. Interestingly, it also details some recommendations which were unsuccessful. Finally, the account seizes on the contribution and degree of losses suffered by the Polish Parachute Brigade, and the aircrew and RASC air despatchers who tried so hard to keep the defenders supplied and who suffered severly in doing so. and lists a Roll of Honour of these men.
