There are a number of reasons why I was disappointed in this book.
First off, if you are seriously considering becoming an army officer, then much of the contents of this book will be old news already.
Secondly, the "inside knowledge" scoring criteria is again pretty patronizing towards the serious AOSB candidate, and seems to rely more on definitions of words such as "Determination" and "Influencing". I certainly didn't learn anything useful from that section.
Thirdly, a large part of the book is dedicated to passing your initial Army Careers Advisor interview, which the author himself notes is very easy. In my experience it was barely an interview at all, rather a meeting to register your interest and to set the ball rolling in terms of regimental visits and GP medicals etc prior to getting your briefing date.
Lastly, and most annoyingly, the editing of the book is atrocious. There are numerous simple spelling mistakes and grammatical error, such as the use of "what" instead of "was". I a more heinous error, the author actually refers to the Royal Navy instead of the Army!!!!
I grudgingly give it two stars however. This is because the numerical and pan ex tests and examples provided were useful. But examples and tests of this kind are readily available online.
I guess the book could be aimed at the ages of 16-18, i.e. school children, but then it should mention this in the description. All in all, disappointing.

I bought this package as, although I had an idea about what was expected from me I wanted to know more about the layout of tasks and little key points to remember. I found it very insightful and when I went to my selection nothing was a surprise which really helped me to remain calm and pass!
For somthing as important as being an Officer in the Army you can never prepare too much, if you want it enough you need to research and prepare yourself fully.

This book is an excellent resource for the Army Officer AOSB as it provides details of the scoring criteria and also a sample planning exercise with details on how to approach it. I found this very useful.
