THUNDER APPROACHING

West Point graduate Lt. Jack Hansen is stationed near the 38th Parallel in South Korea with the 1st Tank Battalion. They haven't seen action yet, but there's plenty of tension. The non-stop grueling training - combined with the heated competition between Hansen's oddball crew and the other tankers - has the entire 72nd armor division ready to go at each other's throats.

But nothing puts a stop to internecine warfare like international warfare...

On Christmas Day, all dissent within the ranks is forgotten. The power-mad dictator of North-Korea has just launched a surprise attack. And Hansen and his battalion of untested warriors must charge into battle to halt the invasion with the only weapon they need - the heavy metal hellbringer known as the M1A1 Abrams tank...

EXCELLENT READ COULDNT PUT IT DOWN 19 May 2005
By R. Maxwell - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I can't really add anything to what oz wrote in his review. I was also a tanker and spent a year in 1ST Tank. And Mr. Callahan captured the life as a tanker better than any other author around. I would reccoment this book to every war buff.

A Damned Fine Read 27 Jan 2006
By B. M. Salvi - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book is one of those that doesn't come along often. The storyline isn't some far-fetched fiction that has no possibility of ever happening. It is an awesome book that brings its readers into the story. I couldn't put this book down. I've read other great books about tankers such as Team Yankee, but this by far takes the cake. It builds up the characters and the plot fluidly. If you like Clancy, Coyle, or any of those types, then this book is definately up your alley!

On target account of US tankers in combat 3 Aug 2005
By Stormbringer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Tankers seldom get the literary attention they deserve, but this is as close as anyone gets to being in a tank in combat. The men of First Tank are real, the stress they are under vibrates through the pages, and it is an honor to see a hard-working part of the armed forces finally get there due. This is the real deal.
