I bought a cheaper version of this and it fell apart within two weeks - now I've bought this (which isn't expensive anyway) and it's great, well built and has sturdy fixings sorted!!

Really strong bracket, I used it on my motorbike and it was very solid at high speed and bumpy conditions.
So for the holder and bracket I give it top marks.
The only negative is that after a couple of months the screws that hold the bracket on go really rusty and look horrible, for a few extra pence you would have thought that they would have supplied the screws in stainless steel to make it a first class product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Seems to do the job. 28 Jun. 2011

I've been using this almost every day for about a month now. Phone GPS facing me, phone flashlight facing forward at night.

The arm twists and rotates to what I would imagine would be appropriate for any rider and bike, and can hold the phone vertically or horizontally.

I've demonstrated to others that giving the phone a solid whack at just the right angle will indeed eject the phone, but in practice the worst potholes haven't been able to budge it. I have noticed that with the size of my particular phone model, a good squeeze of the side arms will get an extra click from the locking mechanism and hold it tighter.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for a joy ride. Not for comuting or mountain cycling 7 Nov. 2010

I first doubted that this could keep my phone holstered. But after several days of riding the holding mechanism proved its self. However, my phone ate some dirt when I rode my bike down some stairs. The mechanism that attaches the phone holder and the bike attachment is unadjustable and a little loose. phone mount its self is quite solid.

The thing that really annoyed me was the bulkyness of the mount. The detachable mount is by no means pocket able.

1.0 out of 5 stars Easily ejects phone 12 Jun. 2011

Stay away from this device unless your goal is to destroy your cell phone. On one ride the phone ejected at 25 MPH, after that I wrapped a band around the phone and the caddy. The second time I was going downhill at 35 MPH and the entire caddy released from the mounting bracket. The phone when bouncing over the bridge into the metal post and down fortunately we were able to find it and to my amazement it was still working after the abuse. It is a Samsung i917

I'm revising my review, because after using the mount with my iPhone for a few months, I found that when I would hit a bump on the street, the iPhone would pop out and hit the pavement. After this happened three times last year, I now keep the phone in my pocket and have removed the mount from the bike.
