Finding a suitable spot to secure my Sat Nav on the steep sloping windscreen of my Citroen Picasso was something of a problem, so having read about the Bean Bag, I thought the Arkon Bean Bag Dashboard Weighted Non Skid Friction Mounted CM012 would solve my problem.
Having ordered the product, it arrived within two days, which was first-class service. However, on opening the package, I was immediately aware that this product would not serve my purpose. It was extremely heavy, rigid and not a bean bag in my view. With the curved dashboard of the Picasso, there was no way that the Arkon Bean Bag would solve my problem. First thoughts was to return the product immediately to the dealer and get a refund, but after second thoughts, could I make it "work"? The only position possible was in the corner of the flat small area of the dashboard near the quarter window. As the bean bag is heavy and very rigid, this could well be the answer. The next step, however, was to do a "dummy road test" with plenty of twists and bends to put it through its paces. After the road trial, I am now convinced that I can salvage something from the Arkon Bean Bag, as it held the Tom Tom Sat Nav nicely in place. Advice, however, to those considering purchasing this product, make sure you have a flat surface to accommodate this hefty, rigid bean bag.

The bean bag is inflexible and not well suited to a curved dashboard. Worse still, the central section where you are supposed to attach the active dock is ridged and therefore the suction mount will not grip. A total waste of money.

I first came across this beanbag when I borrowed one plus the sat nav from my son-in-law. Never having used either I was amazed at how the bag stayed in place even during a hectic B-road detour to get around a closed junction on the A1. I have a Ford C-Max with quite an expanse of flattish dashboard so this product is ideal and doesn't move even as you prod the screen with a finger to operate the sat nav.
I think the reviewer who mentioned ridges on the sucker mount area had failed to remove the plastic film that protects the glass-like finish of the acrylic and this does appear to have bubbles and creases on it on unpacking the bag.
Having now purchased a sat nav of my own, this was the obvious choice for a mount.

I don't care what the reveiws say
Some of the reveiws said this mount was no good and was rigid. Well I use mine on a daily basis in a 44 Tonne truck and it never moves an inch so it gets the thumbs up from me.
