The Dual Bay Pro is a two drive solution that can be configured in RAID 0 for increased performance or RAID 1 for increased reliability. If one drive fails, the other still has a copy of the data. To ensure optimum data integrity, the Dual Bay Pro is hot-swappable and hot pluggable, plus supports live rebuild, ensuring no network down time. Active Directory Service is supported for easy integration into any business network, making the Dual Bay Pro the ideal product for the small office, home office, and business office environments.
Easily store, share and backup your data: The Dual Bay Pro Gigabit NAS is a high-speed, easy to use NAS providing an excellent data storage and sharing solution for your office network. The Dual Bay Pro is equipped with two USB ports so you can easily backup files from attached USB storage devices via the one touch 'Backup' button, and backup to USB devices via the Dual Bay Pro GUI. Additionally, the Dual Bay Pro can be used as a print server by attaching a USB printer.
Embedded FTP server: The FTP server allows users to backup and share files via the FTP client.

Arkara Gigalan Professional DualBay NAS Enclosure with RAID 0/1/JBOD/SPAN
This is an excellent NAS drive. It feels very sturdy with a metal casing and a small cooling fan at the rear. Its whisper quiet when in use and I really appreciate that since its on my desk. I purchased it, added 2 x 1.5TB drives and after formatting and creating RAID 1 (which was easy to follow from the extensive manual)it was up and running. I chose RAID 1 for my needs.
There`s a handy USB port on the rear so you can connect an external USB HDD to just expand the capacity a little bit more. I have not used it yet, but will shortly.
It comes with a multitude of services FTP, BitTorrent media etc, an altogether superb bit of kit.
Now its just a case of adding all my media files so I can feel they are in a safe place instead on my internal HDD`s.
Hope this helps all those who are considering buying this great storage device? I`m certain you will not regret it!

This units works as described, its has a nice case & nice web interface but it is slow.
Transferring files works out at around 1-2MB/sec. When compared to a server which turns in approx 30 MB/sec with a gigabit card.
This means to actually use it in a real world scenario is going to push it, don't expect to be streaming multi users video content whilst you do some file transfers.
I was going to return it but I cant as the seller wont accept it back unless its broke, thought you deserve the heads up.

Brought this NAs last year when it was nearly half the price it is now. This was after looking at many different products and comparing features. I have 2 1.5TB drives in it and will say I am so glad I went for this one. Easy to set up, nice program to set everything else up and not had any problems with it whatsoever. Would highly recommend even at the current price. :)
